I did a 10pm til 10am shift 4 days a week for a while, it wasn't bad, just boring and lonely. Customers very rarily have any issues during that time period, plus I was the only one in the office at the itme.
I have also done a 6am to 4pm shift and I honestly prefer that to all others short of making your own hours. If need be, I could work overtime til 7pm doing that and I worked 6 days a week. It was great money all in all... plus I could walk to work at the time(lived half a mile away from work).
like tuggan, when I worked around the mines and on the truck lot I was up at about 5 without an alarm, usually earlier. After that I went to school and even with 9 or 10 o clock classes I couldnt sleep up until them
Waking up isn't such a bad thing-it's waking up with having something to do right away that sucks so bad.
so I wake up pretty early-my alarm clock is set 45 minutes faster than my stove clock, my stove clock is ten minutes faster than the clock in the car. I get into the car before going to work, I'm awake, not in a hurry, and I have about twenty more minutes than I thought I did, and if I feel like stopping somewhere on the way in, I have the option.
that way-I've already done my own thing before I am obligated to spend my time for someone else. Work isn't so bad then. Being a night owl I would definitely never want to work at night because I enjoy my nights on my own time too much to give them up and obligate myself during that time elsewhere. that would be waaaay worse than working days. but, this is truck driving right? I'd work nights driving for a living. is this about truck driving?
