Technically, they don't have to go without a pay check for the entire summer. They can have a certain %age of their checks deducted during the school year and that money distributed to them each month of summer.
heh deducted. They make salary. If the teacher makes $40,000 a year he can decide whether he wants it all in 9 months, or over 12 months. Not a bad deal. I want that deal. I'd love to have 3 months a year off, with checks coming every two weeks, so I could go to school on the states dime, and get a raise with every credit I earn.
