The New England Association of Schools and Colleges is part of the 6 Regional Accreditations nationwide. It is considered the highest honors of accreditation.

http://www.fulbright.org.cy/myweb/Websi ... tation.htm

Darcler, I never said that Charter Oak was as prestigious as Harvard, so I don't know where you dug up that idea.

It's a good thing that some of you are not in Human Resources, nor in a position to be hiring people, because many of you are clueless in the matter (sorry, not trying to be rude, but that's how you're coming across) and you would be doing your organization a huge disservice with your lack of knowledge on accrediting bodies if you were in the position to decide on who gets hired and who doesn't.

When I go back for my Master's degree, I will again do so from a higher-education system that offers training on line. I haven't chosen which one for sure yet, but you can bet my final selection will be from such universities as Jones International, or National University. In fact, Jones International was the first university in America to offer online-only programs, and their business curriculum was designed by UCLA and Carnegie Mellon University professors. Oh, but you already knew that...

They can test you on the material.

What is this aversion you have with real schools?

You do know that real schools like the University of <insert state name here> have completely on-line MBA programs.

Do you really think you're going to beat out someone with an MBA from say... Ohio State for a job with an MBA from Jones Interneverheardof U?

There's nothing wrong with online - the technology has grown enough to benefit everyone. But, you have this very weird affinity for no name, boarder line degree mill, here's some credit hours for masturbating, get your degree in 24 hours!, type schools... Just because they boast of accredidation don't make it so...

http://www.degree.net/guides/accreditation_guide.html

You can find an MBA program offered through a well known reputable school for just as much (in terms of tuition) if not less than what you're gonna pay with degree mill international.

Unless you already know ahead of time that said big unversities won't accept your current BS.

It's great you got your BA or BS... whatever... no one here should knock you because of it and I don't think anyone has.

It's also great you got a job... congrats... but I have to wonder... did you take that job because it's something you really wanted, or because you couldn't find anything in the business realm? If it was because you couldn't find anything in the business realm, do you think that it's because of "where" you got your degree?

All the tests at Charter Oak had to be proctored by a librarian or clergy person. They sent a form to my pastor, who had to sign it verifying that it was me who took the exam, and that I didn't cheat. He proctored every exam I took. It's actually harder to cheat in that scenario than if you were sitting in a lecture hall, text-messaging your buddies for answers.

OMG. Do you know why distance-learning programs are so popular now? SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO COMMUTE TO A CAMPUS. How many more times do you need to hear that before it sinks in? I could go to California State University Sacramento, or Stanislaus, or even UC Davis, but they don't offer distance learning (yet), but you can bet your bottom dollar that they will at some point in the near future. lol arguing with you about this is comedy gold.

Here ya go... educate yourself:

http://www.jonesinternational.edu/

JIU students learn from a world-class faculty from leading U.S. and international universities. Content experts from such prestigious institutions as the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, UCLA, and Carnegie Mellon University develop all of JIU's courses specifically for the Internet.

JIU CONTENT EXPERTS
Faculty are the cornerstone of an academic experience. That is why JIU works with some of the most highly respected experts in their fields. JIU’s Content Expert faculty are professors at the world’s most prestigious institutions. They are renowned for their knowledge in their fields and hold senior-level positions in well-respected universities and organizations worldwide.

Courses are taught by Teaching Faculty who combine significant academic and teaching experience with professional experience. That way our students get the best of both worlds, as they learn theories about a topic and how to apply them in the workplace.

The JIU learning model represents a true best practice for online education. We are committed to developing courses appropriate for the Internet rather than replicating traditional classroom lectures. These courses are exciting learning modules, rich in content and interaction among the participants and the instructors.

http://learn.wisconsin.edu/internetmba/

In a 30 second Google I found that the University of Wisconsin offers an MBA via online.

The University of Winsconsin certainly holds more water than JIU, no matter how you try to slice it.

Again I will say, there are tons of real schools - schools that actually have real football teams playing in the NCAA - you get the idea - that offer online MBA programs.

But, you go ahead and get your MBA from UJI... see how you compete in the market with people with MBA's from school people have actually heard of.

Seems you're the one not getting it.

You got a four year degree in business - easily one of the most marketable degrees out there, yet you've taken a job driving a truck with plans to take over the company and the world soon as you finish you're MBA from Jackoff U.

Well explain it me then. You've got one of the most marketable degrees in the country... why drive a truck? Because it pays 1000 a week? That's lame... with that degree you should be able to land something in your field with relative ease... so why not?

There's nothing wrong with driving truck, it's good honest work - but when you have a four year college degree... why?

When I was interviewing with the HR manager, she looked at my credentials and asked me if I'd rather apply for a management position. I told her, "Well, I just spent all this time and money working on getting my class A license, and I love driving, so I'd rather do that for a while and then work my way up into management." She said, "Yeah, that makes perfect sense and that's a great plan."

Then on my second interview, the manager asked where I got my degree from and I told him "Charter Oak State College in Connecticut." He replied with, "Oh,
that's a very good school. One of our other managers got his degree there too."

Charter Oak is a very good school whether you want to admit it or not. It doesn't matter to me actually what you think about it. And the $1k/wk. is minimum. Most drivers there make between $1200-1400/wk. which is a great starting salary. First line managers start at $57k and it just goes up from there. I have a sound plan, and I'm sticking to it.

Just for giggles, I looked at an email I got from the HR department over at The Hartford Insurance company. They require a Bachelor's degree, but the starting salary for their claims adjusters is only $40k. Yeah, I'm glad I got out of the insurance business.

Look, I don't care to argue about this anymore with you Diekan. I don't think you're a bad guy, but it's clear to me that your (and other people here on the NT) knowledge about distance-learning leaves much to be desired.

I just realized that your name spelled backwards is Kcorran - as in Koran. Infidel.

p.s. You do realize that I live in Savannah, Ga - and that my school is in the mid-west... 2 + 2.

I'm not slamming on your degree - as I said before it is a good thing. I think it's cool that you found a job... I just wanted to know why you seemed to have a distain for big name school's and their programs. I was curious why you choose UJI over a program like that offered by Wisconsin. I was also curious why you choose a career completely different from your degree.

My degree is in business administration. My major was Organizational Leadership. It is the perfect degree for someone wanting to break into management.

A lot of the reason why I chose Charter Oak was based on cost. Some programs cost well over $20k. Mine was $11k. Jones International is about $19k for their Master's programs, and National University is about $14k. I checked out Penn State too (another prestigious institution) but they are too expensive.

Not to defend Mindia but, he's going to be much better off with some experience in the field when he wants a management position there than some 'tard with a piece of paper with no experience.

I don't like the term "Holier than thou." The Bible is a good reference for living your life, and if you follow it the best you can, you will at least be a healthy person. If you don't have your health... then nothing else really matters all that much. I like sex just as much as anybody, but I'm not a man-whore, and I'm not looking for slutty girls just to have "fun with." I'll leave those kinds of women for the likes of Dangerpaul and Diekan. I want to meet a quality girl who is ready for commitment.

Hey fuck you, I have been with 2 women in the last year. Tiffany, whom I married and divorced and now Sarah who I have been with since March who is total marriage material. Eat my ass god boy
