i remember watching the trial and couldnt believe that the prosecution did not even think to say something like this.

I didn't care about this story when it first happened, why in hell should I care about it now? How many kids get killed or die from being poor and out on the streets every day? The only reason people gave a damn about this one is because the parents were well off and the kid was a "young beauty queen". (leave aside how fucked up a concept having beauty pagents for 6 year olds is).

So the caught the guy. Yah-fucking-hoo. Why not dedicate some of that manpower to, say, Phoenix where there's an active serial killer going around rapign and murdering young women right now.
