There are timelocks. Kunark would have been opened very quickly (week and a half?) if it weren't for the timelock. That said, the two top guilds FoH and RoI are now competing for Trak spawns to key up for VP. Last I read it was 4-2 in FoH's favor.

Lots of drama though. The GL of FoH and many members received 10-day suspensions that were very publicly appealed and ultimately reduced. Lots of FoH hate by the rival guilds too.

Awesome, just like the old world. Do they have to clear VP for SoV to be opened? if so, my hats off to SOE for that piece of the puzzle.

If I had a ton of time, I'd powerlevel a character, but I just can't invest the time needed for EQ.

FoH is ultimately the only guild on the server sucking massive amounts of cock. (they aren't #1 either like everyone thought they were going to be)

It is debatable whether this will change when raid encounters become more than a nukefest to down that 32k hp mob if FoH will regain "top" status.

Realm of Insanity and Wrathful Inquisition are friendly with eachother in the sense that if one shows up and the other is there "in force" they will back down. FoH will not, they will leapfrog you or try to fuck you in whatever way they can.

I.E. Sucking GM dick to get shit done. Pathetic really...

Yeah, everything else died within 2 days of Kunark opening. It's not like the old world though. Casters are way overpowered, and they left in the extra experience 'hotspots' in places like Karnors.

I'm enjoying the drama though. If you're interested, here are two recent threads (a better one that Alloria, the GL of FoH started was deleted, presumably when Smed gave in to his demands):

This is great stuff. Why play when you can simply enjoy the drama without the bullshit?

I see Fuffalo in one of those threads sucking up to FOH. There's a surprise!

Man, if I felt I could catch up, I'd almost consider starting a character just to join the drama.

The final straw that forced me to post was the blatent retardation of the GM who banned a member for "warping" to Rivervale. The only problem was he used Faithstone of Mischief which he bought from the bazaar channel. Moreover, the player did not get a tell explaining the situation or giving the player a chance to explain how he got to Rivervale. He just went LD, and when he tried to login, he found out he was suspended.

Hah hah, now that is fucking typical. I remember a certain GM banning people when horses first came out with Luclin. He banned people for "speedhacking" because they were moving around so fast without mounts. Dumbass didn't have the fucking models for horses on.... That was an interesting story.

That's why I enjoy WoW raids more than EQ raids, they have more going on than the pull and then a poorly designed (but awesomely designed for the time period!) dragon wailing on one person repeatedly.

EQ raids were not that bad when you were 3 boxing. Rog, Dru + Enc on a raid isn't that bad.
For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.

Uh... Luclin raids weren't interesting.

http://www.afterlifeguild.org/Thott/luclincontent.php sums it up quite nicely.

A lot of the DoN/DoD/PoR encounters can be pretty nuts. :P Has definitely evolved from the standard pull/pin/tank/dps staple strat in a lot of raids. Unfortunately it's pretty much impossible to see these unless you've got >500 AA and are in a top end guild. ;/
