Where everyone discusses football, and two dorks try to pretend people actually like the NBA and spam what should be in PMs.

Golden State fires its head coach

Post by Phlegm »

The Warriors dismissed coach Mike Montgomery today after 2 years on the job. Current rumor is that they will hire Don Nelson.

Interesting.

Golden State is one of the worst run NBA teams, I just can't find myself caring one bit about them.

They have a pretty decent starting lineup. Just horrible coaching.

They need to do some drastic. They haven't been in the playoffs since 1994.

They have talent but I can't see why Nellie would want anything to do with an injury prone player like Baron Davis. J-Rich, maybe... Foyle, sure... he's definitely a Don Nelson kind of guy. Dunleavy and Murphy? Same... he'd love hard workers like that. But the rest? Fuck no. Bunch of scrubs.

The CLIPPERS are the talented up and comers in California. Everyone else is broken.

If the clipps can replace (or resign) Cassel they could do some damage next year.

Plus they have Maggette which is pretty much trade bait for them.

Nellie never struck me as that type of guy though. I think this is more to prove to the doubters in Dallas that he still has it.

baron davis is the west coast marbury, he may put up nice stats but he's not somebody you would want on your team

There weren't doubters in Dallas... Nellie left us because HE felt rusty. He knew that he was off his game and wasn't doing the best thing for the team. He built a great replacement already waiting in the wings (like he had done all over the league... Popovich, L.Brown, Dunleavy, et al) and he made the right move.

And... I wouldn't say that B.Davis is nearly as bad as Marbury. He's a MUCH better team player. But no... he's NOT a Nellie guy, by any means.

I dont buy that, Vonk. Cuban forced him out when he knew Avery could step in.

He stepped down just as much as SVG did.
