Wanting a new game to play.

Post by Jazendar »

So i've tried Oblivion, WoW, EQ, EQ2, Warcraft 3, Neverwinter knights, Quake 3, Quake 4, CoD2, Battlefield 1942, and a few others i'm not mentioning i'm sure.

I went to gamestop yesterday and saw Dungeons and Dragons online, as well as Fabled (not online). Which both caught my eye. 30 bucks but I didn't want to buy em without getting some reviews. Anyone else play these two games or have any interesting games that you've played and would like to share? I still play CS competitively, LAN tournies, leagues etc. But for the downtime i'd like to play something that had some depth to it, MMO, RPG, something.

Downloadable games are a plus, Silk Road online for instance, while interesting and fun for a while, was very repetitive.

Tee why~

Fable was great. Have not heard many good things about D&D online.

I need a game too. I'm thinking maybe FEAR will entertain me for a few weeks. Anyone play it? Is it long or worth replaying a few times?

Eve might be worth trying

the kinda neat thing about it is that the skills are time based

ie, you log in, set Turbowarpdrive repair to LEARN and then it takes 85 consecutive hours to learn (whether you're online or not)

hard part is that it means you can NEVER EVER catch up to the oldschool players

nice part is that if you play once a week, you can still make ok progress

I don't really want to play any online games unless they're like Diablo 2. Hmm maybe I should just play Diablo 2.

FEAR is great for one time through, about 35 hours. I enjoyed it.

I'm jonesing for a new game, too. Nothing seems appealing. :dunno:

Titanquest looks like it has potential. I like Dungeon Siege II, but heard bad things about the latest expansion

Jees 9 replies in under an hour.

Anyway, I tried FEAR, neat game, crazy graphics, only game i've ever kinda jumped playing at midnight. And when i typed BF 1942, i meant BF 2. I haven't seen EVE online but i've heard things about it, i'll look up pictures and some videos later. City of Heroes, anything decent? I saw stuff for it and it looks too childish to me, duno.

Rome Total War, what's that like?

Fable, the face that it's on the computer trivialize the experience at all? I know it was on PS2 or Xbox or whatever and was decent, I imagine with a good comp, the graphics coupled with the sound etc could be a plus.

When Is LOTR Online / Vanguard coming out? Those are the two games i'm anticipating the most at the moment, WTB.

The games released within the last year havn't given me anything but a few hour hardon.

Rome total war rocks. Its set in roman times of course with 16 playable nations, each with thier own specialized units, tactics, religions, ect ect ect. The game is split into 2 parts. The first is a world map split into provences. Quite like a board game with movable pawns. There are tons of options available for each providence that can be upgraded ect. The 2nd half of the game is a 3d real time war. You place your units and fight in a 3d environment commanding your troops in the battlefield.

Out of all the games I own I've played everquest the most followed by rome total war. Battlefield 2 and 1942 are close behind.

I've yet to meet anyone who didn't play the shit out of rome after they played their first battle.

Rome total war is a great game. Lots of hours of play time in it, and after you beat it, you can chose another playable nation, and have a completly different experience.

All of the games I'm really looking forward to playing aren't out yet.

October is Neverwinter Nights 2.
November is Medieval: Total War 2.
Q1 2007 is Warhammer: Mark of Chaos.

There's others, but those're the biggies.

Is there a trial to Rome Total war?

I got so bored the other day I downloaded ZNes and started playing Final Fight 1/2/3 and other similiar Super Nintendo games on the old generator. I even downloaded Worms Armageddon, a game I played when I was like 12.

God medieval total war 2 is going to own.

The only fault in RTW is the multiplayer. It only allows the 3d battle in multi. I would LOVE to play full on rome total war with my buds. I know it would be slow some years waiting for them to click accept! But seriously, the battles that would come. omg

Don't even get me started on sieges jaz =p

I've been in LOTR Online alpha for over a month and honestly....I'm not playing it. Cool environment, and well done so far, but nothing to hook you.

I hate to admit it, but I've been playing EQ2. The game has come a FAAAR way since launch, but I think they will never get over the bad state of the game at release. It just wasn't ready. If EQ2 was released today in the shape it is in, then I honestly think the subscribers would at least be in the 500,000 mark if not more.

I've been playing some EQ2, also. My only problem is I don't know anyone on the server I'm playing on. I might start over, also, since the game is so different.
