Just took out my old romance of the three kingdoms for ps1. Damn I love this game I just realized it again.

yeah these games rock. I havent tried any of the newer ones, but I would guess I have put over a year of total play time between Rotk2 and rotk3(myfav)

any of the newest ones worth playing?

I'll elaborate.

ROTK7: Introduces the single character control system. You can play as a Ruler/Warlord/Prefect/Officer/Free Agent or whatever. However you do not get complete control over anyone else. You can be given commands, and turn them down if you want to. You can also improve your stats.

ROTK10: Expands on ROTK7 playstyle. You have all those options, plus if you are not employed by anyone you can run around with a free army and essentially act as a mercanary. If you see a battle in progress, you can jump in on whichever side you want for a reward if the side you are backing wins.

You can also have sworn brothers, a wife, and a rival I believe.

I would recommend playing ROTK10 as it just that much better of a game.
