820th
My brother just got his orders to transfer to Fort Moody in Georgia. He made it into the 820th (air force). He'll be spending 6 months every year for the next three years in Iraq.
From what he's told me the 820th is like special forces. I know there are some people here with experience in the military. What exactly is the 820th and what kinda shit do they do?

Fort implies the people stationed there got too low on the Asvab to be able to join one of the other services, and learn something more useful than washing trucks. Don't denigrate your brother by lumping him with those fucking martians.

Air Force doesn't have an infantry deary
The ONLY thing they have that remotely requires any testosterone is Pararescue all the rest are just estrogen shot taking pussies who couldn't phyiscally handle a REAL branch of military service.
Ohh and for the record. I did a TDY stint at Kirtland AFB in NM before going over to Germany. We'd go to the enlisted club, the clubs out on the town and the AF women went nuts over us. Soon as they found out we were Army that was it... we had two women to every dude at our table. The AF guys hated us for it.
Or... at least he didn't join the Navy... the branch who's motto is "Never leave your buddies behind." I can't see how going out to sea, pretending to be pirates and playing such fun games like "captain's mass," and "walking the plank" for six months at a time equals military service. Hey Lyion when you were in the Navy and after a long, hard day of barnacle scrapping what game did you like best? Was it "dunking for the yard arm," or "my first mate?"

Well now thats not very nice
For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.

The Airforce may not have an infantry, however if you look around for the 820th, you will see it refered to as "The Air Force's Infantry" alot.

They are SP's, just thought it was interesting how many places I saw them referred to as the AF infantry. IMO though, the amazing AF people are those people in SERE. If I were in the AF and couldn’t fly, SERE is where I would want to be

Diek, I did a google search. Something he could have easily done. In near every article it came up with, it referred to them as the Air Forces infantry. Now to compare them to the Army infantry isnt what I was doing. I was relaying the information I recieved.
p.s. Navy is for queers who dont know what to do with a naked and willing woman put before them. I'm not bitter though.

Hey now! Kahar was Navy and we have 3 kids so he does know what to do with a naked and willing woman!
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

The air force special forces are comprised of combat controllers, Pararescuemen, and special weather operation technicians. Oh and the 820th in moody are a new security forces group.
A good article on them and the type of stuff they do.

My brother told me that the guys jumping out of the helicopters in Black Hawk down are from the 820th. I've been imagining him doing shit like that. If that is true he better not fucking die.
Also, Malaysia does have an airforce base. My classmates father used to teach the pilots how to fly F18's. He died of a heartattacke several months ago tho =\ ...

Not sure I know that the majority of the people in black hawk down was delta force. Which is the elites within the elites. I think the only other more specialized groups would probably be Centra spike or Task force 20....(yes they are real) Centra spike im not exactly sure what it is comprised of but it fights alongside navy seals, berets, and delta force. Task force 20 is comprised of delta force, navy seals, berets, and the UK's famous counter terrorism unit SAS and polish elite unit GROM. They mostly kill high value targets. They were their when they killed Uday hussein and Qusay. They also search for leaders of the Mujahideen and former Ba'ath party members.

ya I reckon the Black Hawk Down guys at first were Rangers, then the Delta went in to rescue. I used to do all kinds of research on special forces branches for fun, still have a lot of the books. But from what I know, the 820th arent any kind of bad ass specs ops guys by any means. I could be wrong though, he may just be trying to pump himself up for you lol. I do know that the Delta guys are hand chosen from within the spec ops guys...best of the best so to speak.
