Sheriff: Parents accused of kidnapping daughter upset over boyfriend's race
SALEM, N.H. A sheriff in Maine says a couple accused of tying up their 19-year-old daughter and driving her to get an abortion was upset because the baby's father is black.
The sheriff says he was told by Katelyn Kampf that her mother "was pretty irate" about it.
Kampf escaped Friday at a New Hampshire shopping center and called police.
Police say her parents were apparently taking their daughter to New York to try to force her to get an abortion there.
The parents were arraigned yesterday on kidnapping charges. Investigators say rope, duct tape, scissors and a 22-caliber rifle were found in the car.
The judge set bail at 100-thousand dollars each and has ordered the Kampfs to have no contact with their daughter.
The couple's attorney has said there was no evidence the parents threatened their daughter or her unborn child.

Should these parents be tried for attempted murder or conspiracy to commit murder? I am foggy as to what an unborn child is technically (and,please,this isnt an abortion debate). I mean,if a person shot a pregnant woman and the fetus also died,would it be considered two murders? In my head yes but as far as the law is concerned? I thought this article brought up some pretty interesting points. Well,not the article, but the case i mean~

There was a high profile case a while back that caused a law to be passed that if you kill a pregnant woman and the baby dies, you're charged twice. The baby gets it's own charge.

I think it depends on the stage of pregnancy
ie, if it's at the stage where the baby could have survived outside the womb, then it counts as murder
if it's still in the first couple months, it's not

er, commenting on the lieing nature of politicians? I mean, if youre a right to choose kinda person, you could say if the woman choses to kill/keep the fetus (baby/human) its their call. But if someone makes that call for them thats murder. You give a right with the right to chose, and you deny someone their right by killing their unborn child. Id like to assume, partisan ideology aside, that anyone in a position to pass a law (laws) like that could explain their position.

True, but not to the point where you would vehemently oppose (to the point of physical violence) a family member falling in love with someone that's a different color.
I dont want me sisters to date black guys because I see how they treat all my friends. Just so happens i know a million more girls who are mistreated by black guys than white guys. My hate for *most* (not all, I do know some good black folk) black people is brought on themselves through their constant bullshit with drugs, robbings, shootings, or whatever...its not like I woke up one morning and said "im gonna hate black folk, by god". It's turning on the TV and seeing another drug bust, or leaving the bar and walking down the street to see someone gettin jumped and mugged by 3 of them. Not saying white people dont do this shit too, because they do..but no one here can honestly tell me its not 90% black.
As far as violence goes, I won't be violent until someone lays a finger on my sister or takes advantage of her, whether it be a black, white, asian, or purple, im going to beat the everliving shit out of them.

And err...there are plenty of blacks in Connecticut. Am I racist? Sure, in a cheeky manner. Would it ever prompt me to attack a black guy that my sister is dating based soley on the fact that he is black? No, I'm not a fucking ignorant savage.
