I'm so going to hell for laughing at that Darc.
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

I just watched the memorial service for Steve Irwin last night. It did cause tears to roll down my cheek. Steve was one of the few people on this planet that I looked up to and admired.

He had a sense of humor and knew he could laugh at himself. You should be able to too.

I've never heard him voice his political views.

I was honestly counting the days until this was said. I was even itching to say it myself.

He owned one of the biggest parks for the preservation of wild animals? Do I have to draw you a freaking diagram?

He didn't voice his views. His sole political issue was animal conservation.

It's an assumption, based on the fact that the ONLY thing I know about the guy is that he loves animals and the environment.

Your turn. Tell me how that DOESN'T make him a Liberal.

No one posts facts or proof on this board, Lyion, you especially. But at least my post was funny.

I love John Howard, and that's the way I am. So everyone thinks I'm, like, this diehard Liberal supporter. I'm not! I'm not. I'm sitting on the fence, mate; I'm a conservationist. I can't afford to be one way or the other. I just have to run straight up the middle, mate. I have to get on with whoever's in power. And to tell you the truth, the best speech that popped up in Parliament House when George Bush was here was Simon Crean. Here's a bloke who actually disagreed with Iraq, OK, so he put forward the most eloquent speech, which really boosted his profile in my eyes. By crikey, I thought, Simon did the best one there, which is fantastic. So I appreciate good work when I see it, and that's all it is.

A la wikipedia~

Politics

After questions arose about Irwin being paid $175,000 worth of taxpayers' money to appear in a television advertisement and his possible political ties, Irwin told ABC:

I love John Howard, and that's the way I am. So everyone thinks I'm, like, this diehard Liberal supporter. I'm not! I'm not. I'm sitting on the fence, mate; I'm a conservationist. I can't afford to be one way or the other. I just have to run straight up the middle, mate. I have to get on with whoever's in power. I do think its funny all you city kids (you are a city kid arent you zan?) IMMEDIATELY tie anything having to do with conservation to liberal groups. 90pct of the people at the gun club i used to work at voted conservative and a vast majority of people at that gun club are involved in some kind of active conservation effort (MUCC, lots of DNR officers , some real big wigs in fact). Some of the most conservative people ive ever met have been the most dedicated to conservation.

This guy probably couldnt have given a fuck about partisan politics, but was instead more concerned with furthering his lifelong cause. I think its shameful to tie someone so dedicated to a cause with something so frivalous as favoring one party over another without question.
