So right now i'm doing a paper on a core value

Post by Jazendar »

A value that encompasses everything that you do. It is the core of all of your other values such as patience, respect, blah blah blah. It is the basis for your actions, your thoughts, your ideals etc.

First part is the definition, second part is the explanation of it's meaning, how it came to be, the reasons for the value. Third part is the impact or effect it has on your life and other values.
5-6 pages.

I'm curious, what are some of your values?

Ps no, i'm not going to bust a mark and ask someone to write it for me. Just gaining perspective on what some other possible values might be.

So far i've come up with a few that could possibly summarize me.

Equanimity, as far as passiveness, patience, etc.

Perserverance and a few other basic ones like ambition to succeed etc etc.

Almost all of human thought and emotion can be reduced in some way to the basic premises of Pleasure vs Pain - or further reduced to its cousin: Life (Survival) vs Death. They are the root values of anything else.

I came up with a good metaphorical paragraph explaining the 3 different types of people in society, the fighters, writers, and observers, i think i'll branch that off into something like i explained. A paper Pleasure vs. Pain would be really fun and interesting to right, but I think it would take too much effort for the time given.

Too much effort?

It doesn't get any easier than that.

5-6 pages about life vs death, i'd really have to get into detail about what I mean and it would take a while to come up with an outline for all the examples i'd need to represent. how it affects my life, whether i like pleasure vs pain and what i think other people value etc.

I would venture to guess that the sheepish left would fall under "observers."

Your guess is extremely incorrect.

I base my life around the idea that I create my own destiny. Also, I believe that all people are alike. Of course, this does not include sick-minded fucks into the mixture. I guess a croe value to me would be kindness. What blows is that I am a major bitch most of the time.

Sigh.

Enjoy writing your paper, Jazzy. I know I would.
