I remember when he posted as junk punch, or something like that...then it was ralf and a few others between that and captain insano but after I realized he was a regular person with a particular posting style...his posts always cracked me up after that. he really did not care what anyone thought either, haha...
and...last night I was watching a segment of tv when I saw something called "the carter brothers" or something like that...one of them dated Paris Hilton and the two brothers were fighting--anyway it made me think of ralf. I hoped he was alive and was one of the carter brothers...or at least comes back as a pube on Paris' mound. rock on, brother
Is anyone positive what his real name is? Not that Capt is above setting up a major trick and faking his death for the folks at NT, but I just spent the last 5 hours going through every obituary in California from Aug 4 (his last post date) to today and not one single Ryan Carter is listed.
I am starting to think this is all shenanigans for him and goose to have a giant laugh.

Pretty sure that's his real name, Paul. I was in touch with him through email for the graphics thing, and with the checks he sent. I'm pretty positive that it's legit.
I think it's probably real, however, one possibility is that his new venture was failing (certainly possible, though this would be quite fast). The Cap'n, not wanting to admit it + feeling embarrassed for burning out on Wow pre-60, sees a way of getting out of ever having to live up to it here: pretends he's dead and has the President of his company back it up to you when you emailed.
Alternatively, his company was failing, and he saw the opportunity for a joke.

as for capt. real name we did converse a bit on suppliers of PC systems. exchange names and such. However the email addy he used is all but extinct, I left that company in April for a better one 300 miles away.
We had discussed meeting for drinks when he came down to visit Goose. I thought I had a PM with his or Gose's cell in it, but I cant find it now. I must have erased it.=(
