What were your most memorable raids?

Postby Malluas » Tue Jun 08, 2004 2:19 pm

I do have to say mine was the Statue during my recuiting period for Shock of Swords. I was the main tank and i pulled off the statue from the puller kinda wierd and then we pushed him almost onto the wall lips on the right side of the Icewall. Then as we tried to push him back down but it didn't work. Then i ran to the icewall and sat down and the Statue warped onto me and we killed him. THis may have been the Seanlan "CAMP" raid i can't remember tho.

my 2nd favorite was the Vyrem stuck in the wall raid. couple guilds tried to kill him in the wall and they couldn't do it. But we were able to kill him with some wierd spots where not being able to hit him and him gettin pushed a tad more into the wall.

3rd was Shock of Swords first Tmax kill. WE were pumped when we got him down without massive amounts of dying heh.

4th was killin the statue with 2 clerics (cause they were sittin when he was pulled and he warped onto them)

and 5th, the night i got my epic when i was in Paragons. A day after gonzo finished his i got my wingblade or whatever it was called from Air at like 3 or 4 am and got my epic after that.

Remember i quit when LoS was raidin that snake temple. SO anything from PoP or GoD i have never seen. So thats why you get lots of Velious raids that are my most memorable heh

sitting at SSRA IZ while gathering to raid one of those snakes... cant remember. anyway, i pop an eye thru the wall and drop it to basement where PoN was doing the cursed cycle. get cursed on target and say to my group wonder if i cant taunt cursed to IZ...next thing i see is "loading please wait" and GC spammed with "dont zone into SSRA" i must say that i have never laughed so hard playing EQ.

Most memorable is probably the infamous Euphoria/Shock NToV stand off.

i enjoyed being with my suckass guild who could never get together for a raid until 2 hours after the time was set, and then would have to tell all of the rangers who DID NOT have EQ/AM3 to actually get behind Vindi and melee instead of shooting their fluffy little arrows for 1-5 pts of damage...... What topped it off was when my friend took 4 of us in their and we were killing faster than our raid group would..... probably never would have quit EQ if I didn't have such a suck ass guild...... my wife is thankful though

Liquid Sword wipeout in Plane of Fear that took hours to corpse retrieve. Death after death after death. Finally, the server crashed after hour number 3 or 4, and we /petitioned and the GM's came and cleared zone so we could rez. Oh how pitiful.

Or maybe the Plane of Hate raid with Euphoria where one of my guildies called the GM some slanderous name in /ooc thinking he was in /gu and got all of us turned into gnomes.

NToV standoffs with SoS were always a blast too while listening to Vipsyndsig /auction loot while the guild leaders talked with GM's.

Illucia/Uggmo yelling out orders on PoH raids, with "SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LISTEN....EYES ON THE PUCK" hotkeyed.

Killing Faydedar (random pop, not turn-in), with a shitload of peeps and thinking I was uber, then a year later me, Flippett, Pabaf, Baddwin, and others did it with 12, once again thinking we were so damn uber.

Me, and Vonkaar keeping the peace in Plane of Growth protecting our guildies from the "protector" cycle, (hoping for the druid pet spell drop as payment) then going /afk, getting disconnected, only to reconnect and find our guildies dead.

    Too many memories....

    Wooh tells you, "Camp out."

    You tell Wooh, "What?"

    Wooh tells you, "Now."

You tell Wooh, "Dude, warriors don't camp!"

You tell Wooh, "I hate you." (Or something to that extent)

    LOADING PLEASE WAIT

Wooh was always a complete pain in the ass or hillarious; never anything in between, but always an asshole. I'm not quite sure if that was a good or bad thing two years later.

This barely sticks out in my mind for some reason, all I remember is talking with a few people in Euph and laughing about the whole thing while it was happening. We were mainly laughing about how retarded Wooh was.

I'd have never thought about it if it wasn't for how much former members of Euphoria dwelled on it -- seems they're the only ones who ever bring it up. (its really interesting hearing multiple perspectives on it 3 years later -- it allows you to see how much time/stupidity can warp someone's recollection...even moreso when they feel the need to bring it up 3 years later)

My most memorable raid was with my first POH raid. Went in with COA and it was the first time I got to pull. Kept getting single pulls and I couldn't figure out how I was doing it. I was intentionally trying to train the raid (we were killing really fast) and I couldn't manage pulls of more than 2 or 3. Was a lot of fun.

The COA raid when Vinshayr(sp) trained us in Plane of Growth -- think Stefi was leading that one. Its not everyday you get trained by a GM.

Nothing after Velious was really exciting though, so no real reason to keep it in mind.

i think i was talkin with vip also during that whole thing in NTOV

and i was talkin to Gal, who spammed me saying "BARD!"

ANd talkin to Bzul and him askin wtf was going on hehe.

Sarthis, didn't i screw up one of your pulls in NTOV once? I loved how we made something out of nothing on some raids when we had some stupidty happen. OH yea that was the monks name that would train the mini drakes on us when we were settin up for NToV. heh Wooh was a dufus.

I also remember the night we finally killed whats his face in TOV for the item quests. I don't remember his name, the one on the East side. Took us i thnk 3 tries and the final we beat him.

I would have to say the most memorable raid I was on would have to be when The Conglomeration killed the AoW for the first time. And I tried to parse all the damage being done by like all 90 ass kickers there. Yeah that worked out.

2nd most would be when Cinade and I tore Kaladim down to it's foundation and razed every rotting stinking dorf in the castle, right down to King wtf. God that was fun.

I remember a time I went to The Hole with Deni, Zixx, Ronstar and someone else. It was like 4am and I had been up for most of the previous night... I fell asleep at the key board and woke up at my spawn point with about 50 tells from Deni asking, "are you awake yet?" I had to summon my corpse to the IZ, rez timer was expired.

Most memorable raid? Hmmm... been to so many it's hard to decide. With Paragons I have two the first was a Trak raid - one of the first if I remember right... entire guild dead in seconds of the pull. The second was a Queen raid (in Char). That entire raid was hosed, it was very ccc... Ronstar going off, Siggisaki going off... everyone pissed, but it was good times. With Euph it was the time we killed HP in SSR... at the same time CT had just killed Emp for the first time and LoS was in the basement (I think) doing Cursed... the ooc was filled with taunts and replies... With CT there's just to many to name. Well no... with CT my most memorable raid was in CoD and we tried wtf mob (our first time) that spawns skellies when someone dies... anyway my screen was filled with so many skellies I couldn't move because of the lag. That was a blast.

Ohh there was another... non-guild Fear pickup raid. OMG that was fucking horrible. The raid "leader" didn't have a fucking clue about what he was doing... needless to say we spent the vast majority of our time waiting for rezzes soon after 'breaking in.' It was so bad the raid leader stopped replying to tells and people were asking everyone under the sun from Tigole to Fell (their guilds) to come help. That was the last 'pick up' raid I swore I would ever go on.

Oh dude. Slainn, you remember the king raid we did for my epic? We got hosed so bad, after we'd already done it 3 times for Mall, Kinathar, and Siggi. Kaynne was so pissed he said in his unintelligable typing "WEe KEiP RAeIDING KImNG UNnnTIL WrrE GEgT IT ALmoL NIGHT ALL7 DAY 7 DAYS A WEeeEK." rofl. That shit was classic.

ROFL yes. Kaynn SPEAK was the shit. Those were some good times. That might have been the raid I was thinking of actually... not the Queen.

First raid ever was a naggy raid, only about 5 people were alive after nagafen went down and there was a fire giant wizard there, I went and hid in the corner while the other 4 people ran for their lives, I was hoping to ninja a cloak of flames but it didn't drop =/

The PoFear raid where Soul Leech was looted then transferred.

Standing face to face with Hideaki while Brad had his cack up his ass forcing him to do the transfer unwillingly was one of my favorite moments in EQ.

There are too many to try and find the best one, but I'm confident that my favorite experiences were always raids with CoE. (although I don't actually ever remember us killing anything) Something about Finger not being able to say a single sentence without attacking someone or cursing profusly, made EQ fun. Plus no matter what happend, NT was a blast the next morning.

Yeah. Elmo and I argued all night over whether or not the damage bonus on that 3/10 club from up there (that got nerfed) made it a good weapon or not. God I hated PoAir.

The first Plane of Hate raid with Storm Reavers, when I was a complete n00b was magical.

The other raid wasn't even one I was on.. It was going into Fear to clear the wall from a bad SoV raid. There were probably 500 corpses in Fear, and it was a push on my processor just to zone in.

The original Anks Vox raid also was memorable, and makes me laugh to think about it.

Pictures since haven't wasted enough Bandwidth today:
