what will be the new #1 console once all is said and done?

from all the buzz around the intraweb I would throw my guess and the Wii, but it really depends on how all the developers work with the new controllers.

The WII will crash and burn. It looks like a totally gimmicky piece of shit just like the Gamecube. Their last good console was the N64. The 360 will do moderately well and the PS3 will once again dominate because there are so many retards out there with more money than they know what to do with. The 360 will be number one for at least another year or two before Sony eventually pulls ahead. Sony will pull out of the console market after this one though because they will take a serious beating on the hardware and will barely break even or lose money in the long run. Blu-Ray will fail and HD-DVD will be the new standard for a little while. MS will eventually win out in the console market with whatever console is coming after this generation. Nintendo will keep their handheld market but eventually start creating games for MS consoles and abandon the home console hardware biz.

xbox360 and PS3 for the most part, are just rehash of mudflation of older models

Wii is possibly the only real next gen console

at roughly half the price of the next lowest console, I think pretty much everyone will have one

PS3 will jabown Xbox360 (shit ps2 still outsells xbox360 by like 10 to 1 margin right now)

Wii is cheap garbage with good marketing to hook suckers like you! There is nothing "next gen" or even current gen about it besides a gimmicky controller.

My experience with the N64 went like this.

I bought the console, memory cards, rumble packs and 4 controllers with 35 games for $100. All but maybe 10 of the games were great and gave me many hours of entertainment. N64=Great console

I don't think the wii is gonna be that revolutionairy, but everyone is going to own one. It's clever marketing. Video games aren't just for pimply faced teenage boys anymore, and the wii is going to be a whole lot more appealing to chicks and non-gamers then a 600 dollar console that plays 100 different permutations of huge eyed anime RPG crap.

You think what you want but im telling you the retarded controller is gonna fuck that system up. Motion sensor might bne one thing but that controller is all fucked up. I know i dont wanna deal with that shit at all. Also nintendo hasnt made shit for good games in years what makes you think they will start now. A new zelda willg et them the hook up but over all the ps3 and 360 will stomp them just like they have for years. Chicks arent all uf a sudden gonna take up playing just cuz the controller and the cost of the system. Give it some time me and toss will say told ya so. And the n64 did rock

Im buying all of the consoles so I dont give a shit just pre-ordered my wii from gamestop today. Anyway I think ps3 will crash just because of the ghey blu-ray and if they are still registering the games with only one console (which means that you couldn't rent ps3 games) not to mention sony stock is falling like fucking crazy cause of there gay ass batteries they are blowing ass right now. Also about the wii being the only true next-gen console....um no next-gen consoles are almost always classified by the graphics when they do console comparisons among the "top contenders" the wii isn't even mentioned because it still will pretty much be current gen graphics. The graphics are the only reason that you really buy a new console. If you think gameplay makes next-gen console's then they could just come out with new NES games. Consult PSM, official xbox magazine, and EGM they all say the same thing. I dont know if the 360 will make it either though. But hey they got a good headstart this time around. They got a full year ahead of ps3. Their is also rumors of a portable xbox coming out. It's funny really because I remember people saying that they were gonna wait for the ps3 to come out shortly after the 360....bahahaha you bitchs get to wait the longest. Anyway i'll be buying the wii for zelda, and ps3 for mgs4.

At first I read this thinking, "what a fucking retard." Then I thought about it for a moment. What are the true differences between console generations? The nes had the 2d environments. Snes had 3d. Was everything after that simply an improvement on top of a 3d architecture? True many innovations besides graphics came: better controlers, vibrating ect ect ect. But other than that what changed the way games are played? Not much really.
Now I look at the wii. It still runs a 3d environment. So if the change from nes to snes was a "next gen", then what will come next? Maybe its the potential to create an active response controller. Instead of mashing buttons I swing a controller to hit the gulf club. To me that is next generation. The restructure of graphics does little to improve how much "fun" I get from games.

Shit, duckhunt is still the leading champion for drunken gaming. And thats what it's all based off anyways right?
