I invited a couple friends from work... mav's fans that I've known for years. One has played 1 season of fantasy bball before but mainly knows fantasy football. The other has never played ANY fantasy sport before and basically thinks we are all nerds.

damn both friends refused..

on a sidenote got a fantasy team in a 12 team rot league.. looking for opinions --

1. (11) C. Paul PG
2. (14) R. Allen SG
3. (35) D. Howard PF
4. (38) B. Miller C
5. (59) B. Davis PG
6. (62) A. Miller PG
7. (83) T. Murphy PF
8. (86) M. Miller SG,SF
9. (107) D. Williams PG
10. (110) M. Bonner PF,C
11. (131) K. Martin SG
12. (134) G. Hill SF
13. (155) M. Daniels SG,SF

was a autodraft - hrm matt bonner wasn't on my predraft rankings but he just popped up there anyhow. blocks seem to be a low point on the team.

think i over-reached with paul? seems like every year m.daniels always pops onto my teams..

For your team, if it's 8 cat you're gonna win FT%, but blocks and to a lesser extent rebounds might be a problem. Drop bonner, you don't need threes and he won't get you any blocks at all. Might want to see if Nazr or Wilcox or someone like that is still available. Pretty strong bench for a 12 team league, but it's a little shacky with injuries.

You might want to trade one of your 12 PGs~

Yeah... I'd REALLY be concerned about injuries. It's a strong team though. No giant superstar but Dwight Howard might have a huge year.

These people are all possible injury players:

Ray Allen
Brad Miller (almost guarantee)
Baron Davis (almost guarantee)
Troy Murphy
Mike Miller
Grant Hill :(

If they all stay 100% healthy, you could make some noise in a largish league.

Yeah... but I think a lot of that was motivation. He didn't have a lot of reason to get healthy in Avery's system. He'll play a lot harder up north.

Also, Deron Williams might be a great sleeper pick. He's a good fit for Sloan's dirty system.

Plus he'll be getting a lot more assists now that he has the new allstar centre in the west to pass too.

Damp is better for offensive rebounds... he lead the league in per48 last year. He'll have a freak breakout game (like the 27 rebound game against Philly) here and there but he's not going to do much for you on the scoring end. Actually, neither will.

Diop is probably better for defensive rebounds and blocks. He is a GREAT blocker and will start most of the games this year. They'll both get equal minutes, but Avery usually only puts Damp in when Diop gets into foul trouble... so, if Diop is doing well, he keeps playing. This (IMO) makes him a safer fantasy pick than Damp, plus he's younger and healthier... and blocks are harder to come by than offensive rebounds, which aren't even counted in most leagues.

Diop > Dampier.

Plus there's always a chance for a breakout year for Dio where as Dampier has pretty much peaked.
