Bloggish question about decision making...

Post by Jay »

...for those of you married or with someone. How do you guys make a unified decision? Is it one person who takes the consideration of the other then makes the final call? Is it both people having to unanimously agree to whatever? Do you take turns doing things one person's way then next time do things the other person's way? Just curious as to what you think is the most efficient way of going about the decision making process.

Personally if 2 people disagree with each other on certain topics then the person initiating the change gets fucked over if decisions need to be made unanimously so I think that's a bad way of doing things. I find it more efficient if one person takes the others feelings into consideration and makes the final call.

Depends on the subject. If I want to do something, it's my decision. I'll take her argument into consideration, and make the call on what I'm going to do. She does the same. Now if its about we're both going to do something, we discuss it and make the decision together. If a snap decision is required, it generally falls to me because I'm a lot more decisive than she is. Works pretty well, helps that we generally see things in the same light as each other.

i just tell the bitch to get back in the kitchen and make me a sammich

all kidding aside, we keep our money separate the only time we discuss purchases if its a big ticket item or something we both would use like a washer/dryer

Same for the most part. If it's a big decision, I usually make it and then it's up to her to come up with a convincing argument against it if she opposes. She usually fails.

Depends on what it is.
We normally find a compromise if it is something we disagree on.
If either of us feel very strongly about something, we go with that person.

If it's something like where to eat or something small, he makes the decision. I'm not very decisive.

I used to just let them do the decision making. This led to me being more decisive.
