also picked up a Zoom2 effects box, which I need to learn to use, heh

how are you learning ive thought about picking up guitar too not sure the best way to go about it

A good way to start is get a friend who knows how to play show you some BASICS on reading tabs.

From there you can literally learn most of it yourself.

Don't get discouraged. You will get better the longer you practice.

well, i play piano, so I can read music already, and have an ok grasp on basic music theory

right now i'm just going thru some online music lessons, doing scales, some really basic chords etc
in a couple of weeks, I'll go back to the music store and get them to recommend a guitar teacher

I don't give a shit if i get awesome or anything, I just want to be able to rock out with the music I have at home, heh

I have had my guitar since I was 11. I had it respred a few years ago. It is just an old Alvarez acoustic. I don't even play it anymore, but once in a while I whip it out and strum away until my fingers are sore.

No..I never learned to actually play the damn thing. But I love guys who play guitar, so KUDOS!

I just bought a guitar the other day. Always wanted to learn how to play guitar, so finally decided to give it a go. On demand on cable actually has guitar lessons that are pretty good.

if u play until your fingers are callous...you should know a few chords by then
