Today I repriced all my bazaar whore's stuff and gave away free clairvoyance and kei and haste in the guild lobby for a while, all while guilding about 6 twinks of a guildie of mine.
Then I logged onto my lvl 54 shammy (Gargamellow) and checked her gear to see if she needs more before I bring her back into battle. She does!
But soon I am going to be leveling her as I love to buff people. I don't have the new expansion yet. Yes, I suck balls. But I was wondering if anyone wants to go die in the Hole with me sometime?
Anyway, I am going to get sloshed.

What the fuck does this mean? Anyway, I agree it is the leadership that points a guild. Just like Zzijah with Remedy, back when we would race with LoS, may not have been on the same page/gear wise, but I like to think, we nudged you up in Ntov/ST quite a bit. Waiting on you guys to wipe to dain, then the guild announcement "LoS wiped to Dain, hit your hotkeys." Then as the 20-30 of us would hit our hotkeys that sent mudcrush a "God your a shitt shaman to wipe on dain" hotkeys went off....
And for Medicd....Christ, she inspected me once, and I had ONE peice of gear she didnt, and she went fucking crazy, saying "your guild shouldnt have gotten that, you guys fucking suck, ki si in a fire...." etc etc.
I think Garg is trying to say that the game has changed so much that if Tikker was to pick up some one else's character, with his old mindset from the last time he played, and his character vs the NPCs of yesteryear vs todays encounters, he would die fast. I don't think she ment it to be offensive towards any one, atleast thats how I read it...

Ahhhh. Medicd and Dain pulls. I still remember those.
I was usually on the pull team, with Tigole, Medicd, and the wizard was usually Adorean.
Sample group conversation from those pull teams:
Tigole tells the group, "Summon please, Medicd."
<10 seconds go by, Tig is at about 3/4 health>
Tigole tells the group, "Medicd, Summon me now"
<10 more seconds go by, Tig is near dead>
Tigole tells the group, "MEDICD SUMMON NOW"
<Few more seconds, Tigole dies.>
Silence.
<About 20 more seconds pass>
Medicd tells the group, "Summoning Adorean"
Oh yeah, Medicd was a REAL winner. One of the better drama threads in LOS history came when we wanted to actually guild a Paladin, when up til then for a long time, the only paladin in the guild was Cyberchen, the paladin Medicd would 2-box (very badly). He went ballistic, and reached a near-Ixnay level of frothing insanity. In fact, Medicd started probably THE best internal-LOS drama thread ever, "FUCK FUNGI TUNIC". Ahhhh, good times. rofl. You guys only ever saw the LOS vs Everyone Else drama. Some of the internal drama was easily as entertaining, if not moreso. We EARNED that "We Know Drama" tag...

LoS ruled the universe for years.
I remember back when I was a newbie. I swear the LoSers had glowing auras, they were so cool-looking.
The links were so godly that I stopped clicking them after a while. It made my gear look shitty and I never had the courage to go anywhere hard because I felt as if my gear blew too many goats.
Legacy of Steel was the example to follow. Any other guild was just a raid guild. I will miss the tag if it is disbanded. And I will never forget how they owned my server before any other game hit the market.

Sandi is on some fucking nuts arent you?
Ill agree with Arlos, LoS had some fucking assholes, but if your good at what you do, and get it done, people will put up with your shit. Ronald was an asshole, hell I remember grouping with him, and then regrouping when he rolled up his shaman/rogue duo. If he got pissed, you could tell, and he would share why YOU fucked up HIS group. When everything worked, it was the greatest place you could be on earth however.
Ozus, same way. There was an awesome druid in LoS, I cant remember the name that was quite impressive also.

Ozus was a brainless twat, who was easily the worst member of our wizard corps for months, until he went batshit-ixnay psycho, quit the guild, started making a bunch of really retarded rants against members and the leadership, and left.
Ronald was a complete raving asshole, but also was probably the most skilled player I ever encountered in EQ. He and I didn't get along well on anything resembling a personal level, but we got along fine professionally, as it were. He was also the ONLY person I ever encountered who could dual box, and each character would perform on par with anyone else single boxing. Most everyone else who dual boxed could barely play 2 at 60% each, Ronald was at about 95% each.
Anyway, the assholes in LOS in its heyday were mostly of the Ronald type: Jackasses, with egos the size of small planets, but good enough at what they did that you could put up with it. Get enough of those people in 1 guild, and you're going to have crazy drama, but if you have a leader with a) enough skill to command the respect of those people, and b) enough leadership talent to get them all (at least mostly) pulling in the same direction, and that guild is going to perform miracles.
That's what LOS was, ultimately. A good 25% of the guild had at least one other guildmate on perma-ignore, if not more. We had people who would send tells to the person putting together raid groups the equivalent of, "Don't group me with X, because I refuse to heal them." Some members *HATED* each other, with a frothing passion. I still remember some of the, say, Daelomin vs Brionca fights, GG, rofl. But still, everyone had the same goal, and we had more than enough collective talent to get past the drag of the idiots and asshats we DID have. We also had a knack for a long time of finding new recruits who might not have the skill right then, but had the talent to get to the elite skill level, and that's what kept the guild going. (well, that and cherry-picking the best of the best from guilds that imploded, heh.)

arlos wrote:Actually, let me differ with Tikker's assessment to some extent. We had a great many assholes in the guild, of that there is no doubt. Ronald being Lord Grand High King of Assholedom. We had, however, very few assHATS, with their ranks being limited to people like Ozus, Medicd, Surreal, etc.

I beg to differ one more time with Arlos and Tikker.
I believe the ultimate king and queen asshat would be Nizzar and Mudcrush.
Although I think Nizzar would win the most annoyingly funny fucker in the world because he always cracked me up when he would fuck up our raids LOL.
I still remember him zoning into PoF and running around training shit all over the place while shouting about needing a rez or something haha.
Damn he really pissed Fell off.
