I never said you posted anything....I remember conversations with you.

Yes, those are all underutilized zones. I'm not contesting that.

My point is and was that there isn't really anything to do if you don't have a significant chunk of time to invest.

I can work on models, or knit for only a half hour if I wanted to and still have something to show for it. I cannot do the same in EQ.

AA can be pumped out in less than a half hour. Ldon, parts of your epics, parts of other quests, tradeskills. All of those can be done in small chunks of time if you so desire.

btw, if you want a game you can do things in less than half an hour and get some super cool reward MMORPG are NOT the games for you.

Loral:
Offer progressive content in 30 minutes or less. Many players have limited play time. There is little progress anyone can make in thirty minutes. Many people solo and work on trade skills when they have limited time. Improve solo content; improve trade skill content; add adventure-point based task systems.

This would cater to low levels/casuals however and not unbalance it too much and this is what I would like to see instead of new content that will go un-used-

if they instanced all encounters to give casual/lowbies a fighting chance at getting to such mobs as velious/kunark bosses etc which is stuff that can be done in under an hour IF its up and IF you can set up the time. Also make everything that drops from the instanced versions nodrop to not fuck up EQ more than it already is.

Now if you want an idea from me as to how to let one person/group progress through the game without unbalancing everything? I have no clue.

**this is just my opinion and I do not speak for all the "ubers"

Please, someone tell me what I missed then. He really did have some good points but since (as far as I can see) he didn't know one thing he's being dismissed as a newb.

Focus on single-group content. The six-person group was once the single unit that all content was balanced against. Planes of Power and Gates of Discord put raiding and raid-equipped players above moderately equipped single groups. Increase content for single groups. Increase high-end equipment opportunities for single group hunters. Use adventure merchants, expeditions, and instanced zones to bring more content and progression opportunities to single group hunters. Make the six person group the focus of Everquest again.
Don't really agree with this one. There is plenty of old world content for 1 group.

Offer easier corpse recovery for old world and Gates of Discord zones. Planes of Power and Lost Dungeons of Norrath offer excellent escapes for nasty corpse recoveries. Befallen, Blackburrow, Kaesora, Dalnirs Crypt, and all other old-world dungeons offer no such option. The Plane of Fear has a higher risk than any raiding zone in Planes of Power. Don't punish Befallen hunters with horrible corpse recoveries while Plane of Fire hunters recover in 20 minutes.
What's wrong with this?

Offer quest, adventure-point, or vendor alternatives for level 65 and GoD spells. For single group hunters, level 65 spells are rare and gates of discord spells are almost non-existent. Offer quests or adventure point systems for high level spells. Give casual hunters a clear path to these spells. Place level 65 and GoD spells on LDON adventure merchants or add a similar system to GoD.
Already in test so it can't be too sucky an idea.

Offer progressive content in 30 minutes or less. Many players have limited play time. There is little progress anyone can make in thirty minutes. Many people solo and work on trade skills when they have limited time. Improve solo content; improve trade skill content; add adventure-point based task systems.
What is so wrong with this?

Add higher-end equipment to LDON adventure merchants. Lost Dungeons offers a fair and consistent method for acquiring equipment. Players are able to progress towards powerful gear in small steps. This equipment lacks power when compared to Elemental, Time, and GoD equipment. Add high-cost equipment with two slot 3s, higher power melee weapons, and augments with the higher-end focus effects such as Marr's Gift, Preservation of Xegony, Mana Regeneration +3 and +4, and Faerune.
Again, already in test.

Add more Lost Dungeon content including zones, adventure types, and rewards. Many players love Lost Dungeons and want more adventure types, zones, and lower power raid content. Add new adventure types and rebalance the rescue and assassination quests. Increase the cash and experience rewards. Use the expedition feature of Gates of Discord in Lost Dungeons so people can come and leave in the early parts of an adventure.
This one is an iffy one.

Make the Sewers, Vxed, and Tipt easier to get to, easier to recover from, easier to battle in, and offer more significant rewards. These zones are very hard for their current rewards and many powerful groups fail in the last few minutes of a four hour hunt. Tune these zones for high level characters without raid-level equipment.
No comment on this one. Never been there, doubt I ever will.

Minor Quips and Suggestions:

Fix sitting animations for male elves. Why do I still look like a statue when I sit?

Revamp Sky and Fear. Fear is the only zone left where people cannot get a safe summon at the zone in. It is the hardest of the Planes with the worst loot. The time for three-day sky raids is over. Let Call of the Hero work in Sky.
What's so wrong with this one? Sky sucks and everyone knows it.

Debug quests. A lot of people fail on quests when they hand in stacks. The rat whisker quest still eats stacks of rat wiskers without returning them. Buggy quests frustrate players of all levels. Add better quality control to quest and trade skill content.
They have a new guy in charge of quests who (from what I read) is going to work on this.

Support dual-monitor systems. I'd love to put my buff and extra chat windows on another monitor while using my main monitor for the world view, target, and group windows. Duel monitor support adds a lot of capability for high-end systems.
Not something that interests me, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have merit for some people.

Offer partial refunds on adventure-merchant augments. A 50% refund wouldn't unbalance the game and would give people some points back for future gear.
This one is really the only item that I can see that he's clueless about.

No more rats, bats, and spiders. I've fought these throughout my 65 levels and 260 AA points. Its time I fought nothing smaller than a armadillo.

I kind of agree with the augment refund thing. Would be nice to have some kind of compensation for upgrading gear instead of having to pound out an additional 1100 ldon points for another 40hp aug or whatever.

Some zone revamps would be good, but not sky or fear.

PoSky is one of those zones where the finished quest rewards should just be added in other zones that get revamped and the whole zone demolished.

I read the augment thing as when you buy the wrong one.

Scrubbing an augment and getting it back is supposedly in test.

I get your point, Tikker. The guy is total dweeb. He still does have a few good points tho.

I want a way for other players to rate you, like on ebay. Then if you're good, you get groups and if you suck you get ignored out of the game.

I thought on that for a minute and came up with another idea.

What about trials, like in PoJ, except for solo players? Each guy would be for a certain class to solo, and if you were good and passed on your own merit you would get your name changed to a blue color or something. If you had a color system rating who had passed what on their own, like karate belts, then I think it would fix the problem of gettting and searching for groups.

That was my biggest complaint about EQ, waiting for groups. But I hated soloing. If there was a way to see who was worthy of a group, and not someone who got handheld through PoJ trials, then I think that would at least counter some of that problem.

With that and my above idea for e-bayish ratings, people would know who to group with.

Even with the required PoJ trials and BoT flag required you kept out alot of the retards, it would have all just been better if they kept it that way.

Message boards are for that. Reputation as a player is important, and if someone is a loot whore or sucks ass and is afk 1/2 the time it gets known <or did when I played>.

The problem is that often times when you're setting up that LDON group, and trying to find a healer, the one guy LFG is someone you know sucks. Due to lack of classes, you get stuck with an ass player.

You only hear about the incredibly shitty ones and loot whores. What about that fucking enchanter that hangs around for 1/2 an hour doing a shitty job, then out of the blue says they're leaving and 2 seconds later gates out. Or the cleric that melees. You don't hear about that shit on web boards, or really even idle chit chat with guildies. You learn it the hard way, and that's avoidable.

To be honest, Tikker, I think he compiled his list from other peoples posts and that's why it doesn't suck. ;)

BTW Labbats, I love your suggestion! Our guild keeps a list of bad/good players but it's not always easy to remember names when in game.
