So far every description of pergo flooring puts it at three layers. I wonder why Home Depot's description is different.

Four is better than three I guess. Especially when the fourth is the second strongest material known to man.

I would like to see Ganzo disagree with me, considering he is hte only other flooring expert on this board, I will wait to see what he says about it, I promise he won't disagree with me.

He didn't disagree with you before.

Pergo will only buckle from high exposure to water, but that much water would also buckle a hardwood floor.

I was working all day so i couldn't post replies.
Kizzy,
melamite is a type of laminate surface, it is what used as base of all laminate floors right now, core layer is made up of ether medium density fiberboard or high density fiberboard depending on manufacturer and photograph of wood or tile glued to it, and top layer of laminate mixed with particles of carbide(also known as aluminum oxide, material second in strength only to diamond).

I take offence in being considered same expert as you.

Lets see, 10 years in the industry, started whith New York Carpet World worked there in sales less than year before Bob Shaw bought them out to close doors and get rid of competition. Went to Color Tile Inc. when they were biggest hard surface flooring place. Was there when they brought in Pergo(before HomeDepot heard of laminates) to US and made them household name. Went to Pergo training facilities in NY was traind and certified as Pergo installler and product expert. Was installing Pergo back in the days when it required glue and strap set. Went to Mohawk, Miliken, Shaw, got full training, certified in product and installs of carpet, hardwood, ceraming, refinishing. While doing sales at Color Tile got second pt job as a helper to ceramic installer, worked with him for 3 years. Replaced my second job as a helper to hardwood installer/carpenter, while geting promoted to manager at Color Tile(it was now franchise store not corp anymore). Worked with wood, doing hardwood installs, refinishing, custom trimwork, cabinets. 3 years later got my builder license. Became contractor pt and store manager/sales in Color Tile(store was renamed to get away from corp going bancrupt). Worked for 2 years with 3 difrent flippers, restoring old shity houses to be resold. Bought store i worked in, and started doing residential/commercial installs on the side. This year hired manager for my store and 2 helpers for mself, and now doing ft install only go to store to sign paychecks.
So 10 years of sales and installs of product i'm talking about.

Now tell me about your rapid web based training at Home Depot, where you work as glorified lead generator

Im ot going to argue with you, I have extensive training at Charter College Online, so its not worth arguing over. Just compare the sales of this "glorified order taker" to your whole company, and we will see. Oh and heaven forbid I take my previous knowledge of flooring to a place who pays me very well (more than $3 an hour more than I would make anywhere else in the area.) and they package it with a flexible work schedule so I can be home with my son and a great benefits package so I can take him to the doctor when he needs it.

No worries, I am sure when your business venture fails like so many other mom and pop shops that the Home Depot will give you a job.

It boggles my mind, but she honestly can't accept the fact that Ganzo is more of an expert than she is? What's next, denying that Watson and Crick know more about Genetics than you do, because you happened to have taken a couple undergraduate classes in biology?

Last I looked, no one said that Home Depot was a bad place to work, so why you're defending its worthiness, I have no idea. The argument was that part time employment at 2 or 3 home depots over the space of a few months does not even BEGIN to make you the be-all and ends-all expert in flooring materials, especially compared to someone who's done it full time for the last decade plus.

Get over yourself, woman. You got bitchslapped, power-owned, whatever the fuck you want to refer to it as. Your bluff got called, it was proved you had nothing resembling the clue or credentials to back up your assertions, and you were made to look like at least half an idiot. Live with it and move on, because lashing out like that just makes you look like a bitter shrew. Wait, let me correct that: more of a bitter shrew than you normally appear.
