Never Winter Nights 2
Anyone picked it up? I'm trying to decide, of all the recent D&D games the original NWN didn't really hold my interest as much as the Baulders Gates or Pool of Radiance.

Incredible game in my opinion. The storyline in single player is leagues above NWN1 and the expansions. As far as graphics think an advanced version of Knights of the Old Replubic 2. You have to have a pretty beefy machine to see all the eye candy.
Classes are put together well, and although the gameplay moves a little slower than NWN1, it keeps you from overlooking a lot of things.
Have to say this is the best game purchase I've made in awhile.

I'm having a blast with it. My only downfall is that it is strict D&D rules for character classes and multiclasses etc.. I was never into D&D, and never even knew what a griffon was until I played EQ. With that said, I wanted to be an Arcane Archer class in NWN2, and had to read up to learn I had to be a ranger and arcane caster (I went sorcerer) before the Arcane Archer class would open up later in the game.
That aside, the storyline is fun (although linear). Reminds me a lot of KOTOR 2 in playstyle. Linear, but still fun with lots of options for character development for how you answer questions etc... There is also crafting in this one. If you liked the community add-on stories for NWN, or enjoyed the old Baldurs Gate series, you should really enjoy NWN2.
I also think they rushed it a bit. Patch on release day, and a lot of sluggishness on average PC systems. I'm running AMD 4200 64-bit dual core with 2gb Ram and dual 7600GT's in SLI, and still hiccup a little with everything maxed.

So far I like the npc interaction, that is the part that reminds me of the KOTOR series, and one of the best parts. It has some very nice eye candy and as stated it is pretty resource intensive. That being said the design and story line so far far out weigh pretty graphics for me, so even if you can't run the game on the highest settings (dynamic shadows is hell on most vid cards) it's still going to be a very enjoyable game.
Tikker as far as multi-player, I haven't done so yet, but a co-worker is also playing it and we talked about doing some multi-player after we got a bit more used to the game, I'll let you know what I think when we try it, probably sometime this week.

My biggest issue with the game so far was actually brought up in the Gamespot review: The camera sucks ass. Frequently it gets obscured by the celing, it's impossible to set up a proper overhead chase cam, even with the speed cranked to max the rotation speed of the camera blows, etc. etc. etc.
I'm not very far in, but am having fun so far. The camera thing is frustrating as hell though, because the original NWN's camera was just fine.

DnD is turn based though. That's what was so great about TOEE. THe gameplay was the best of any DnD game so far, the story and quests were abysmal and there were tons of bugs, but it was atleast something they could improve on.
