I think when they say love is blind it's being misinterpreted. which really sucks, because in essence, it is somewhat true (of course that can be argued) but if you consider that love isn't something that has eyes or that can see, it's meaning isn't meant to be taken literally, but we get the point.
I agree with everyone and must say that I have to be physically attracted to someone when I look at them in order to want to be physical with them. We could do psychological tests and put people in rooms with lights out and have them respond to the same person with the lights on and see exactly if it makes a difference or not-but I know it does for me and I can't help that. However, I'm not strictly attracted to "one thing" or a "type" and my preference is always unknown even to me. When I saw my boyfriend I was immediately attracted to him. I knew I wanted to talk to him and I also knew I really wanted to touch him, etc...before I even talked to him.
I love people I've never been attracted to, also. it's just that in the Bible it states in Corinthians that "love is blind" and that scripture and much of that book is known for being about the unity of marriage and that phrase is a common one. Whoever wrote that (in the Bible) could have coined the phrase but we don't know that. For all we know, it was meant in the sense of marriage and that is the kind of unity that will not come undone because love is blind.
basically I just realized that I think love is something you really have to discipline yourself to feel, it's a principle but it really is also a feeling. the feeling doesn't come unless you honor certain things, and in marriage this is one of them.

lol
I laughed a little more than I should have at that.
Ok, I get what youre saying Garg. I loved Gid before he came to Texas, he complimented me in almost every way. But, had he been a midget or hideous, the deal would have been off. I cant fuck someone I am not attracted to....wait, I take that back. I cant fuck someone and want to hang out with them the next day that I am not attracted to.

I think Love is Blind used to mean that you love the person for what is inside, but nowadays in this day and age, it means you overlook the things that bother you, like leaving the toilet seat up, or biting their toe nails off.

lol, Love isn't blind, its just a way to get ovr the crap that annoys you. For along time i said i loved someone and got owned for being such a noob at it...
I think love should open your eyes and make you realize what you want. Maybe i'm just selfish, but if it annoyed me how she constantly farrted in bed then i would probably end up snapping out...
I don't know...

Personality and character is most important and will, ultimately, be the glue that holds the relationship together. However, I also feel there must be some sort of physical attraction. I'm very lucky I found Kristin... she is a total sweetheart, intelligent, motivated, and is very attractive too. That's kind of a rare combination these days. She's very ambitious too, as she owns a highly successful pet grooming business, and she also has a horse-drawn carriage business during the holidays. I think I'm in love with her but I won't tell her for a while yet.

Without having known a person, looks is what snags you. Personality is what keeps you there. You don't look across a bar and see someone ugly and say "Now, there is someone I'd love to get to know. I bet he/she has a nice personality"
Before my married days I dated a few girls that were "hot" and I'd dump them after a month or so usually. Friends thought I was crazy. For me it is the initial "hotness" that attracts me. But when they have the personality of a sock that eventually wears off. I'd get in a few more nights of her being my finger puppet and then go elsewhere.

In my experience, if a girl drops the L bomb that early, you can generally translate it to:
"Hi, I am the black hole of emotional need, be prepared for my entire suite of issues, and for your every erg of emotional energy to be sucked dry."

Tell her to slow it down man. I agree with arlos.
Oh and put it in her pooper.
