BCS ranking

Postby Phlegm » Sat Nov 11, 2006 10:45 pm

The BCS ranking is going to be a lot different next week after 4 top ten teams lost this week. Louisville, Texas, Auburn, and California all lost. For the championship game it could be OSU/Michigan winner against either USC or Florida.

USC still has Notre Dame and Cal if they even win tonight.

If it's not USC it will be ND.

USC has no business being number 3. Setting aside my particular bias against that school for a moment - Florida has a MUCH tougher schedule and by all rights deserves the number 3 slot. But, the BCS doesn't like the SEC and I am willing to bet real life money Florida (being an SEC school) will get fucked out of the national championship... anyone remember Auburn a couple of years ago?

They'll find a way to get ND or USC in the national champ.... mark my words. If Texas hadn't lost another one, they'd be up for it as well.

I hope I'm wrong... I really do... but I'm willing to bet that this year's national champ game is going to be Ohio State vs either Notre Dame or USC - Florida will get fucked.

Take a hard look at Florida, for those who doubt.

They've beat 2 HIGH ranked teams and only lost to one other ranked team (Auburn).

USC on the other hand has beaten two LOW ranked teams (Nebraska and Oregon) AND has damn near gotten their asses kicked by the shit teams they've beaten.

Ok - let me break it down a little more.

The two ranked teams Florida has beaten:

LSU - ranked 9
Tenn - ranker 13

Their only loss was to Auburn, who is ranked 11

Now add to that, that the teams they've beaten has been by a pretty significant point margin. Take the UCF game 42 - 0 for example.

Ok, so now let's look at USC...

The two ranked teams they've beaten:

Nebraska - ranked 19
Oregon - ranked 21

Their only loss was to Oregon State - a team that's NOT EVEN RANKED!

Add to that the shit teams they've beaten - they've only won by a touchdown or LESS. While Florida has won by more than two TD's per game.

So, tell me.... WHY IN THE FUCK IS USC RANKED HIGHER THAN FLORIDA other than simple bias for USC?

I promise you that if ND beats USC in a couple of weeks you're going to see ND being moved up to 3 - because they just cant get enough of the cock sucking fag Brady Quinn.

Make no mistake, I'm not a huge SEC fan, but even I have to admit that division is easily one of the toughest, if not THE toughest in college football - yet the teams of the SEC get fucked quite a bit by the Big Ten / Pac Ten loving BCS.

The only thing that is fair is to allow OSU / UM to have a rematch in the BCS title game, regardless of who (UM!) wins this Saturday.

The loss to Oregon State and the fact they've gotten by in 90% of their games (against reasonbly shitty teams) by the hair of their asses completely negate that win.

It's bias man, plain and simple.

Without a play off system the truly good teams will get fucked by fanboism for the likes of the Bootys and Quinns.

You gotta wonder why Troy Smith isn't getting the attention, or the knob slobbing by the media like those two homos get.... hmm maybe because Smith isn't a rich white boy (aka Peyton Manningesque)???

The only thing Mich is going to be beating is their dicks while watching the OSU players gangbanging the entire MIch cheerleading squad after the win.

A rematch of OSU / UM would be the worst thing that could happen to college football.

Of course...it might be the BEST thing that could happen to college football as far as getting a change in motion to the rankings / poll system

What does it really matter at this point? If USC beats Notre Dame and Cal back to back, they deserve to be 3.

It works in the end.

How in the fuck is ND still in the top 10?

Anyway - so the way it looks now - if USC loses next weekend - Michigan will be going.

It's either going to be USC or Mich agaisnt Ohio State. In a way, I kind of hope USC does go. It would bring me great joy to watch the Buckeyes demolish that subpar team into dust in front of the entire world.

I'd really perfer Florida get a shot, but with them being SEC - the BCS aint gonna let that happen.

Notre Dame is there because of their reputation. They are way overrated. They played two games against decent teams and got their asses kicked in both, 44-24 to USC and 47-21 to Michigan.

Florida is totally boring to watch. They have no fucking offense. They can't score over 20 points to save their lives.

Go Irish!!!

I was actually thinking we should have kicked off deep instead of trying the onside kick and keeping the 13 point loss to maintain BCS eligible but looks like they kept us top 12 anyway.

Don't worry, we'll have a terrible year next year and won't be in the picture for anything, but hopefully get back to 9-3 in Clausen's 2nd year.

College football's "championship" will always remain a joke until they put in an actual playoff system. The only reason they don't is pure greed. Their excuses about it being "bad for the athletes" are so much crap, given that the other divisions of college football have a successful playoff system that works just fine.

Their excuse is that they don't want the students to miss another 2 weeks of schooling.................the only problem is that those 2 weeks fall on a time when 99% of the schools are out for christmas vacation.
