Not every raiding guild uses Vent, it makes it a lot more fun.

I don't see how anyone couldn't like the Naxx fights, except for Patchwerk they're all fun as hell.

Yea, I think a big mystique behind EQ being more challenging, was that no one really used Vent back then, and it's more difficult to communicate typing ingame, than it is to express yourself over vent.

Naxx DOES bring some cool bossfights to the table, but our raid leader was such a serious prick when it came to new 40 man content, it felt like we were working and not playing a video game. ( Hence I loved 20 mans ). The amount of gold required for repairs and pots learning Naxx was a shit ton, and I had a hardtime justifying the farming time to naxx raiding time spent. Then again, I personally fucking hate any form of tradeskills in any MMO. Ever. If I didn't ebay my character, I'd probably have a hella fun time in Naxx with most everything on Farm status now, but too late for that now.

Naethyn with cross server BGs now, there is no waiting for ques now. It really changed the server community if you were a competitive PvP based server because you face people you've never seen or heard of before. The upside is that, you can get your PvP fix when ever you need, and if you only have a small amount of time to log on you can have some instant WSG fun.

And I think Patchwerk is amazing if your a warrior and if your allowed to dps instead of tank :hiphop:

I meant raiding without Vent is more fun. I don't use it.

Naethyn, the longest wait you'll have since cross-server BG's were put in is going to be like 3 minutes.

And I really don't feel bad you had to wait since you played pussified over-populated alliance!

Naxx learning and the gold required does suck but that doesn't change the fact that the bosses are fun as hell.

I used to pug aq20 with a different guild, and only music was allowed in vent, no actual speaking. It was a blast.

both games are for gamers...wow is a simple version of eq

that's as simple as i can put it..and i don't want to raid or kill bosses..fuck i don't even want to group.

right now..i am actually considering chucking the whole idea of playing wow because of the "icon" as fin would put it, play interface

eq > wow for content : wow > eq for convenience

EQ > wow for content? EQ has 10 expansions.....Even now, wow is pushing EQ with content I think. With this expac wow will proably beat eq in content. Im with you sandi, I loved EQ, and would proably go back if they reset all the new gay changes to make it more casual.

However the cross-server BG's allowed for some nice battles, if you were sick of pvp roll a twink rogue, its what I did. I was tired of getting rolled by the 15% of AQ40/naxx geared people, and the retards in random PUGs when my pvp crew wasnt on. 1400 hp on a lvl 19 rogue = 40 KB, 1 death, 72 HK's in my best bg last night.

Twinks are nice due to the fact everyone can be EQUAL. No one no matter what(if you have enough gold/time) can be better equiped then you are. Just different choices in weapon enchants is the only thing that seperate twinks, and mowing through the non twinks just makes you feel better.

You're kind of contradicting yourself. On page one of this thread you were talking about how you're not raiding for 3 months until the expansion comes out because there's nothing to do.

As far as visible so-to-speak higher end content goes, I agree, EQ is fairly limited in it's current state, simply due to all the bullshit flags and keys needed for 7+ expansion old stuff. There's no reason for them to limit access to zones GoD and previous. People could have alot more fun going back and pickup grouping some of the older content. But who cares about fun right?

As far as fight difficulty and challenges are concerned, I'll put the Overlord Mata Muram fight up against any MMORPG fight. But really who are we kidding. Nothing in an MMORPG is difficult, it just comes down to knowing what buttons to push, and when.

That being said, any encounter designed around one person killing the raid due to connection issues or not paying attention out of 50 is very flawed design in my opinion.

regardless of the reason, they did change from the standard main tank/cheal rotation with the only changes being to make the mob hit harder and quicker

That's pretty contradictory. I'd venture to say about 90% of the people in the 10-19 bracket AREN'T twinks. So basically you're now the overgeared/overpowered player that is equal to the Naxx geared players you hated. Sucks when it happens to you but it's ok when you do it? :dunno:

Anyways the lower level BG's are a joke. You only have 1/4 of your skillsets to work with and no worthwhile talent sets. At least at 60 you're not sure what you're going to go up against and need to fix your strategies on the fly.

PS: I've had better scores than that in the top level brackets, nothing to brag about.

That wasn't the arguement. The arguement was that EQ had harder encounters, when in fact it didn't. Every fight was a meat and potatoes fight until they saw what the WoW guys were doing.

WoW also hasn't had a paid expansion where as EQ and EQ2 have been basically selling patches at 30$ a pop.

True, they've opened 4 new dungeons and 3 new raid zones since the game was opened, talent revamps, auction house improvements, battlegrounds. That would be enough content for EQ to release 2 x-pacs.

I wish I hadn't gone at WoW full force as soon as I got it. I would love just playing as a casual player but everything seems trivial now :(

Ive had better scores but never the killing blow, I guess its the "priest syndrome" meaning Im the guy healing you, doting your kills, but you get to be on top of the scoreboard at the end and im at the bottom.

Ive had my fun at the top bracket, im not slacker geared, not in aq40/naxx gear either, but as a undead shadow priest, its not that hard to kill just about anything one on one, or 2-3 on 1.

Point about lower lvl pvp, is I dont have to worry about the other 39 people in AV who feel that can out dps the 2 priest healing the warrior who is cutting a whole in the middle of our Defense...I can just plow the priest and the warrior usually. Id actually say about 75%ish isnt twinked, most people I know who are first time players mow through the 10-19 bracket after there first game.

I cant wait for the guilds on my server to get tehre act back together and start raiding, but Im tired of guilds getting to bwl/aq40 and breaking up due to lackluster raid attendence and then having to reroll with xxx guild of the week, just to have to grab some new green players and regear in MC, Ive done my MC time and Im done with it. hopefully after the expac, it revives some life back into raiding, and not just everyone grinding out the pvp rewards.

your first problem is that you actually played AV. AV isn't pvp.

AV used to be PvP untill Blizz made it gay as fuck and took out 85% of the NPCs. And they dramatically increased the rate at which you get Rep in there, which wasn't needed because even before the nerfs you could get exhaulted AV in 1-2 weeks easily.

I like both games but to say WoW has more content than EQ, or even close to as much is silly. In EQ the average or below average player won't see much of what the game has to offer, but in WoW even the biggest retards get to see ALL of WoW.

Hunters and Mages never getting hit an entire game of AV and picking people off from 40 yards away for an hour in a row isn't pvp....in either version of AV. It's a good concept with a horrible imbalance.

Tie your arms behind your back and play WoW with your teeth. That's about how intuitive the EQ interface is and will simulate gameplay for you.
