I'm buying the Utah hype. I see them making a BIG move in the playoffs this year.

This east is hilarious though. I actually like Toronto's chances of winning the Atlantic and going into the playoffs third ahhaha.

Our only real competition is NJ assuming we play like we have been. We've had a killer sched already been out west twice and were in what 8th now?

Orlando I'm not buying one bit. Dwights good but he can't score that well and he doesn't pass out of doubles that well either. Once teams really start to pick them apart they're gonna come back down to earth.

Shout out to Xao to defend the Dark if he's lurking?

Also, you never posted about the Derrick Martin 3pt thing in the Mavs Raps thread....jerk.

Sorry, didn't see it =p.

Utah smhootah. Jerry Sloan is the dirtiest coach in the history of the league. He teaches elbows first, it's a shame that he's had some stand-up players on his teams. They'll get past whatever first-round team they play, although Houston/Utah would be a GREAT (and INSANELY BORING) matchup but they can't get past Dallas/San Antonio/Phoenix or The Clips, if they can get back into last season's shape.

I still like Toronto over probably 11 of the teams in the East, if only because of Bosh. There are only a few teams over there who have truly dominant players like him. Washington, Miami, Boston and Cleveland are all that come to mind. But Boston and Washington are broken beyond repair right now (no D). NJ and Detroit are the most balanced teams, but neither of them have that star power that Stern loves. Still, the West has 10 balanced teams that would dismantle any of the 15 East teams in an 7 game series right now... and that's freaking sad.

You are absolutely right Vonk, but the East has two things going for it in the Finals. LeBron James and Wade. This year could be the same as last, with the whistles deciding the games.

I just think Utah has so much versatility. They are one good guard away from being truly dominant in my mind. Sure they play dirty, but Sloan is still one of the best coaches alive and he's done more with less in the last few years of Utah basketball, and now that he seems to have his guard of the future and his frontcourt, I think you'll see them be very good pretty much every year until Boozer get's itchy feet again and leaves in free agency.

Yeah, but what 'good guard' wants to play in asstown, mormon-ville Utah? Before Shaq made it cool, playing for a singular (ie, non-plural) team (Jazz, Heat, Magic) was almost as out of fashion as playing in Canada.

Chris Paul is still the superior PG, mark my words.

No doubt Paul is the better player.

I might drop out of my work league now...

The fucking commissioner just pulled this stupid fucking trade with the guy that wants to build the all-dallas team. He (commish) just traded his Jason Terry for Kevin Garnett. Yeah, that's fair. I protested, of course. If this goes through, I'm going to dump all of my players that aren't on the can't-cut list to waivers and trade the uncuttables to the #1 team (not commish) for his worst players. Total bullshit.

as much as i have gay man love for dwight howard and the magic.. as much as other magic fans are buying into the hype that we are a deep playoff team.. i dont think so. this team is just way too turnover heavy. lack of 3's ain't helping too. :|
