yes but in a way, everyone is discriminated against

hell if you want to be technical, white men are discriminated against by feminists such as myself

some things are apples and oranges though

and i do recognize what you are saying, araby...but the property taxes in a community don't lower when a fat girl moves in..see what I am saying?

RALEIGH — A Raleigh activist and bookstore owner told a panel at Howard University Law School on Oct. 14 that the solution to many of the problems faced by black people is the extermination of “white people off the face of the planet.” Dr. Kamau Kambon, who taught Africana Studies 241 in the Spring 2005 semester at North Carolina State University, also said this needs to be done “because white people want to kill us.”

Addressing a panel on “Hurricane Katrina Media Coverage,” broadcast in its entirety on C-SPAN, Kambon told the audience that white people “have retina scans, they have what they call racial profiling, DNA banks, and they’re monitoring our people to try to prevent the one person from coming up with the one idea. And the one idea is, how we are going to exterminate white people because that in my estimation is the only conclusion I have come to. We have to exterminate white people off the face of the planet to solve this problem.”

I've worked with HR before, in facilitating new hires

minority races are FAVOURED for hires, not so much that you take unqualified over qualified, but if you're a black/native/visible minority/woman you get the job over the white dude 100% of the time

if you're disabled, it's a golden ticket


Not just that, but immigrants will bend over backwards to take a job in order to retain their Visa status. We hired a dude coming from teaching college level physics to be part of our floor management team.

I would not say that minorities are favOred over whites, but as a general rule, they do not think they are entitled to more money than they are worth.

Pauls original article is a narrow look at things based on the sole single issue of 'reparations'. I agree we shouldn't pay reparations, but I think we still need affirmative action and better opportunities for blacks.

Segregation and serious discrimination is not from the 1800s, but can be visible easily in our lifetimes and just a few decades ago.

The longterm goal is to do away with affirmative action, but as we currently still have a caste system in our country with many generations of blacks mired in the inner city without the opportunities offered to many others due to a culture that was hoisted upon them by America, it is our responsibility to enable an equalization of this problem via helping get them out.

The question is where to draw the line, and what is fair and appropriate? Given most of our jobs are going to Asians and Indians, I'd like to complain about real discrimination, please.
