Well now i'm completely confused. You still watch VHS instead of DVD? Playing EQ on a Tandy? Bunny ears on your TV?
EQ has awesome detail and vast areas to explore and manipulate.
WoW lore is just as (if not more) developed and spread through every zone/quest that you do. WoW also doesn't have 15 different "filler" zones that EQ has.
A character practically becomes an extention of one's self when engaged in a battle on EQ.
LOL what? I guess it depends on how obsessed you are with the game you're currently playing. You could say your MUD character from 1989 was an extension of yourself while playing if you wanted to.
If you're talking about player involvement in battles then WoW is far and away more "involving" than anything EQ ever had. Nobody in WoW mezzes a mob for 30 minutes in a row or goes AFK tanking a mob or sets up a Cheal macro. Even at level 19 a character skillset is more complicated than a level 70 EQ character.
The society is well-developed as a result of age. If one prefers this kind of game, it is supreme.
I've said about 200 times now that the community is what made the game. That still has NOTHING to do with the actual game or gameplay mechanics...you just refuse to acknowledge this.
I view the games as actual games to play and not social getaways. Since "chatting" seems to be about the only thing you've pointed out that is better in EQ I guess you should compare the chat program within the two
