Yes, overtime people may or may not grow in different directions in which they view life and how they want to live life, its not really something you can stop but imo a good way to protect both parties in the long run. And if you stay together forever, well then you didnt need it and you wasted a couple hours.

if you think it's not the real thing or think you guys don't have trust then that's one thing but you wouldn't ruin love by protecting yourself and your children in the event something happened. I look at is as one of the "better to have and not need" kind of things. I've heard lots of sob stories where protection would have been better for the person with a prenup. they aren't just for the rich.

Gargamellow, I find it hard to believe that your boyfriend asked you to marry him but wanted you to sign a pre nup first, I just find that hard to believe.

I just reread what I wrote and it seems bitchy, which was not my intent. I guess what I am saying is that YOu two have been together for a while now, and you two are very much in love. YOu have always said that you didn't have much money. I can see him proposing, but I cant see him asking you for a prenup. It just isnt in his nature.

Prenup is essential. Not that it really matters since you and Virra would end up splitting a run down trailer, crusty couch, a couple of computers and 7 bucks.

Larry Ellison had the right idea when he sprung a prenup on his (pregnant) fiancee an hour before their wedding.

if you go into the marriage with nothin, then pre-nup is meaningless

if you each have certain amount of value, then I think you really can't go wrong with a pre-nup, even if all it says is "my stuff is mine, yours is yours"(obviously not in exactly those words)

it is fair to split what is gained during the marrage. if you bring shit into the marrage that should remain yours.

and btw garg, the laws in this country are set up to screw the guy, not the girl. You need a fucking shark of a your ass nowlawyer to protect days.

EDIT: I just wanted to add that marrage is the root of all evil.
For you

If you marry the right person you wouldn't need a prenup. Problem is, people are too stupid to settle down with Ms. Mr. right and instead marry Mr Hot / Ms Hot and hope it works out in the end.

Then again - that's just me.

Didnt sign one because we both didnt have too much of value. Definately nothing to get married and divorced over to recieve.

It also just never crossed either of our minds.
