Iverson finally finds a home....barring snags.

Yea Kidds been playing well, but NJ hasn't. I'd give Nash the edge at point. There really hasn't been a standout yet.

He's built like a point-guard, he's just had to play like a 2 his whole career.

this would be very interesting to see. it would also prove to some of these sports writers here that the 76's front office needs to be cleared out and replaced.

Oh they should do that regardless of what happens in Denver.

I'm sure Mike Vick would make a great pocket passer, too.

Shrug... his career average is 6.1 assists per game... that's nearly an assist more than Jordon.

True Vonk, but like I said earlier he'll make the last pass, but he rarely makes the 1st pass. Plus he's been known to freeze people out if they miss shots and don't get hom assists.

I think the big difference is iverson controls the ball, he drives in, sets back up, goes in agan and then kicks it out. This won't happen every play, but with iverson in the game carmello will be getting the ball a lot later in the shot clock then previously with andre miller. That means he has less time to create for himself, to post up, or drive. I really don't think it's a personality clash, but both players' game is built on controlling the ball and either creating his own shot, or breaking down the d and kicking it out but you can only have one person do that per play.

Iverson has had some good players with him, vonk mentioned stackhouse, but he's also had some years with iguodala and did nothing with him (considering his play lately since iverson got benched, you could easily say iguodala was being held back quite a bit by iverson).

As far as MVP goes, team standing has a lot to do with who is considered, they won't pick the best player on a last place team for example. I think right now nash would be more deserving (team playing well, better stats) but if the nets pick things up, and kidd does finish with a triple double average he could easily get it. The problem is, kidd's body will most likely break down before that, and at some point jefferson will be back and taking rebounds and points away from kidd

At least half of Nash's 12 daily assists come from him driving the lane only to run into a strong wall (to contest his easy layups)... he'd then kick it out to Marion or Bell out on the wings for the jumpers, easy dime. That's not the 'first assist' that you describe, it's exactly what AI does. The difference for Steve is that he's ALWAYS had options, other threats that teams have had to contend with. People that were left open

Aaand... Anytime your #1 option is sidelined, your other stars have to pick up the slack. If Dirk is out of the game, Josh Howard and Jason Terry's numbers are going to explode. Does that mean that Dirk was holding Howard back and the mavs are better off without him? Of course not. Igoudala is simply getting more playing time and more plays drawn up for him, because Iverson is out of the picture. That's the nature of the game. It's his team now.

Team standing... for sure... Let's see Phoenix beat some good teams and then we'll talk. Right now they are 3-7 against teams over .500. Beating up on the East is nothing to get excited about. They need to solidify the standards for the MVP award because it varies year to year and it's getting ridiculous.

Speaking of Dirk being out of the game isn't he injured?

No. He had a light ankle sprain last game but he's fine for tonight... not that we need him, we were up by 40 going into the 3rd just now.

Flipping over on my NBA league pass... (nyah nyah Zan)

Iverson is playing pretty well so far, has 6 assists already, shooting 8 for 11... couple of 3s. Looks pretty nice. It's been pretty hilarious to see Karl play AI and Boykins at the same time. They look like freaking turbo-midgets out there with Brad Miller and company. Pretty effective together though, similar style of play and all. Never considered that.

We get league pass in Canada now~

I'm not paying for cable now though so it would be like 70$ a month just for league pass.

Phoenix loses... to an East team...

Although, we lost to Washington last time Arenas exploded, so maybe I should give em slack...

Nah... It's just good whenever our rivals go down. That was an especially good day because Utah, Phoenix and San Antonio all lost.

I mainly dislike all the hype... probably because we played the exact same way but never saw the same league-wide attention that Phoenix is getting. But whatever...
