so i wanna know . . . if you are the type who gives and receives gifties during this holiday season, what were your favorite gifts to give and receive?

MINE:

give--a box of jameson irish whiskey-flavored fudge (to my brother, jameson is his favorite); a framed picture of josh and i to his mom (she got all teary and emotional about it hehe)

receive--a beautiful pearl ring from joshua; a mint-condition copy of Final Fantasy III (for the SNES) from alex

Give: Gift cards for Sam's Club, Target, and Starbucks (for my sister, bro-in-law, and nephew) a hand-carved wooden jewelry box for my neice, a huge cookbook for my mom, and bird-watching binoculars for my dad.

Received: (I put this in the MP3 thread in EE already)

I got a thousand bucks from my parents, a dual-cam video conferencing webcam system, a portable XM satellite system, a men's sleepwear set (), 4 movie passes, a couple DVD's (Blazing Saddles, Blue Collar Comedy Tour), and a $25 gift card for Starbucks. Oh, and a Rubbermaid "tupperware-type" set because my mom says I never returned her old ones whenever she gives me leftovers to take home. hehe

To give my favorite was some defensive rounds for my dad's .40 cal infront of a buncha anti-gun folk that are here for the holiday.

To receive my favorite was a mounted boar's head from our last hunting trip.

I got a Gucci 3/4 overcoat from roomate. Matching shoes from his gf.

I gave my roomate a new digital camera and the new Chanel sunglasses to his gf. I also bought myself a new BlackBerry Pearl and a new pair of pants.

hahaha. That's spectacular. Just like when I got a Glock 21 in front of my anti side of the family from Lansing.

So far I've got a pair of fleece lined carhartts and if that's all I got I'd be happy. Haven't exchanged gifts with the family yet though. I got the old lady a kodak Z612 and a Wii though, she liked'em.

Jj got me a Keepsake clay/frame set to make imprints of the boys' hands, 2 PreciousPlates, and a 5th of Disaronno Originale (yummm).

I got a little radio that I can hook my iPod into for work, money, a few cloths, a Gander Mtn. gift certificate that im buying a new shotgun with, and a bad ass new pair of snakeskin boots. The nicest present I got was fro my little brothers girlfriend, some boxers, really just because she really didnt have too and I just thought it was really sweet.

I gave a lot of gift certificates and stuff because I really suck at shopping and am paranoid that the person wont like what I got them, so i'll let them pick it out.

gave:

mom dad and leah all got framed artwork of mine, leah got FF3 and a strategy guide, mom got the other half of her nativity, dad got tabasco stuff and an ipod shuffle pre-loaded with all the recorded music i've been involved with over the last 12 years (that took a while to collect!)

got:

a limited-edition book of my dad's photography (check out http://www.rickhouchin.com if you're curious), a couple of awesome books, some whiskey fudge, gift card and coupons to the music store, and some monogrammed highball and rocks glasses that belonged to my grandfather (i never got to meet him

). also a sweet-ass grill, some grill utensils, some gummi stuff, and a best buy gift cert. my mom also got me a wii a few weeks ago but she was nice enough to not make me wait for christmas hehe! and my dad gave me a decent PC he didn't need anymore. some nice workout clothes and a couple of nice shirts for work. some cKone, a cool metal box with an arabic calligram on the lid. my grandboss gave me a 10$ gift card to chipotle. leah also ordered me a couple of cool shirts that unfortunately did not arrive by christmas. there's probably some other stuff i can't think of at the moment but it was all pretty great stuff

I gave my sister karaoke revolution for her family, hopefully they'll get a kick out of it, got my Mom a collection of Hawaiian coffees and a gift certificate to a restaurant..

I got the Lego Mindstorms NXT set, which can kept me very occupied until early morning hours lately, seriously, quite possibly the best present I've ever received. It's so not just a toy. That's the only thing worth mentioning, the rest is pretty much clothes or cash, which are both good.

Your dad's pictures are beautiful, Brinstar (and Leah). I really love picture 1-1 with the snowy trees, and 2-3 with the amazing lightning. I'd love to be able to afford lots of neat photography to put on the walls here.

I gave mostly clothes to Ugz & his daughter, but I also pitched in to get his daugther a keyboard (musical, not computer), and I got a GPS receiver for Ugz's cell phone so he can get turn-by-turn on his business trips without one of the more expensive Tomtoms.

My favorite presents this year were a boxed set of the Blue Planet series, Poser 6 with a book on it, and a Nintendo DS with the new Super Mario Brothers. Loves me some Mario.

I got my first electric guitar from my mom... It rocks.

For my mom, i actually went to church... Thats all she wanted from.
I was broke because my tires went out on me just before i could go shopping so i had to do a whole bunch of costly shit to my car.

It was sad....

I got a nintendo DS and some games from gurl, some clothing and couple gift cards to go shopping with. A new dyson vacum cleaner, and my dogs groomed, whihc was badly needed. Also someone was nice enough to give me a stomach virus so I dropped 20 lbs in 3 days and now have really bad kidney pain from dehydration, hooray for pedialyte.

I got gurl a trip to savannah georgia in a couple months when the weather is nicer, we're gunna take the train down and stay and a bed and breakfast in the historic area. also got her a new mirror.

That was bout it.

i give gifts people really want..i pay close attention to them throughout the year to see the things they really can use...then i get it for them on christmas...

i like receiving money so i can blow it on more gifts

Jen and I gave out a bunch of Heifer.org gifts to people... donated 2 flocks of chicks, 1 geese and 1 of ducklingss, 1 sheep and a goat. More material things were... a bottle of tequila from Tijuana, a BUNCH of Navajo souvenirs that we bought around the grand-canyon, a bunch of Dragonball-Z toys I mooched from work... and I gave Jen a shopping spree at the mall, and we bought ourselves a new Sleepnumber bed for our own presents.

I got... a bunch of nick nacks and food... was a lot of fun... got to see my family, that was the best part.

didnt do anything christmas day, my real favorite gift comes in a few weeks when i go to florida and see my kiwi

for him i got.. 80 gig ipod (to replace his 3 year old crappy one with no video) 2 center court mavs/magic tickets for while we're in florida

he got me.. 30 gig ipod, went to some really nice soap shop and got me all sorts of these fancypants soaps and bubble baths, season 2 of spongebob, and garden state, and of course spent a small fortune to come see me

Vampyros Lesbos DVD and soundtrack on vinyl!

Gift certificate to local fish store!

Few other odds and ends.

I gave my son a digital camera and 3 Nintendo DS games.

My girlfriend got a new tattoo and the complete Mr Show DVD collection.

Gave various gift certificates etc to other folks.

Give -I gave my nieces and nephews Fraggle Rock dolls -Red for the girls and Goober for the boy, each with a Doozer, and some Fraggle Rock episodes on Dvd. For my mom I gave her a Thomas Kincaid(sp?) snowglobe that lights up and plays I'll Be Home For Christmas- she was crying over the phone when she opened it lol. I got Kinammer a Psp, framed photo of Antonio Gates (Chargers#85) and a few other random things he liked.

Received -I got a 120 set limited edition tin of Prisma colored pencils (my ex had gotten me some too years ago and I still have love them, just needed to add to the collection), an art easel made in France supposedly, a PSP, a purple mountain bike, a Waycom Graphire tablet with bluetooth technology, um...gift cards from the family, and a lot of other random fun things

I don't think I've been this spoiled on Christmas since I was like 6!
