these are my reasons almost exactly (although chrono trigger is up there for me, too--ff6 still wins, though)

Genesis for me too, with SNES being a super close second

I was always a sports gamer, and genesis was probably the peak of console sports gaming(madden, NHL, etc)

SNES had zelda, final fantasy, etc

original NES is a very very close 3rd (tecmo bowl, final fantasy, dragon warrior 1-4, Romance of 3 kingdoms, ghengis khan, etc etc etc)

the whole 8 and 16 bit generations were the golden years of gaming imo
by far the largest selection of games, and great new genres introduced

I went with the original NES. More great memories of that system, than any other hands down.

Yeah... SNES has Chrono Trigger, FF6, Earthbound, Super Mario RPG, and Zelda. Dunno if anything will be able to beat that for me. <3 <3 <3

No Xbox in that list?

I loved my Atari 2600, NES, Dreamcast and Genesis but my Xbox has to be the coolest console ever created once it was cracked.

Chrono Trigger holds that title. Fuck the whole Final Fantasy line.

SNES probably takes it for me, Genesis had the good sports games though.
