If "I" fathered the child? No. I would not sign anything to release my financial obligations. If "I" fathered the child, I would step up and face my responsibility - regardless if she fought to keep me from seeing him/her or not.

That's a FAR cry from accepting someone else's offspring and taking THIER obligation on.

Get a second car. That alone with help the situation. That way she doesnt have to take you to work. Subconciously not having a vehicle, or depending on someone elses vehicle can cause alot of stress.

If you had any reading comprehension, then you'd understand it's not for the wife, but for the kid, and, much like the idea of marriage, which I doubt you will ever grasp anytime in the near future, it has to do with the commitment factor, which is the major part of what makes a marriage, well, a marriage.

Here, maybe this is easier: when confronted with the idea of having your own kids, would you say "no" because of the financial risk?
He is, in essence, making the little girl "his" daughter for all - ALL - intents and purposes, right down to paying child support should it come to that. It has nothing to do with making his wife "warm and fuzzy" since the kid HAS a father whom she could probably already rape for child support + back payments. You getting this yet?

Like I already said though, not my cup of tea. I have issues with the idea of anyone adopting my kids. I find it hard to understand why anyone else would let someone else do that, personally.
