Blackboard Paint

Postby Zanchief » Thu Jan 25, 2007 1:12 pm

Anyone ever try this stuff out?

I have an old coffee table that needs some new paint and I figure kill two birds since I've been looking for something I can game on with grids and such.

Does it actually work at turning your wall (or coffee table) into a blackboard?

It works. Problem is it gets harder and harder to clean with each use. Starts to turn a shade of white after awhile, or whichever color chalk you use.

:dunno: if it's an old shitty coffee table you dont give a fuck about, all you gotta do is strip it and repaint once it gets really bad.

You know...I'm starting to wonder if the board is doing mini-rollbacks.

Only things in the logs are Lyion and Jay editing themselves.

I've noticed MANY mini-rollbacks.

I mentioned this months ago and no one took me seriously.

I've seen entire sections of threads disappear and no one said anything besides me.

Rustoleum carries a product that we sell where I work

http://www.rustoleum.com/Product.asp?ddf=38&frm_product_id=35&SBL=1

It does work, and very well.

I haven't heard of any complaints from customers about it washing itself out, but I am sure that is a possibility. Wouldn't be to hard to repaint every few months or so.

Hope this helps.

One of my co-workers used blackboard paint in his office. It's worked very well for about 3 years now. The first attempt wasn't so hot, so he went over it with another 2 coats and now it's awesome. Cleaning isn't that bad. You can't use an eraser very well, but a wet rag takes the chalk right off. Just give it another couple coats and be sure to start with a good primer.

Yes because saying nerd in an unmoderated forum really offends me. How dare you Tossica.
