I know you probably don't know who he is but I bet you know who Jerry Sloan is.
Unbeknownst to me at the time," Amaechi wrote, "Sloan had used some anti-gay innuendo to describe me. It was confirmed via e-mails from friends who worked in high-level front-office jobs with the Jazz.
I used to like the Jazz and I used to like Sloan. Now, not so much.
There is a difference between making jokes and making derogatory comments about someone behind their back to people he works with. It just speaks volumes to his character IMO.
I agree, but you don't know to what extent and you don't know what was actually said. Some anti-gay innuendo could have been anything and also at the time Jerry Sloan didn't know he was gay. For all you know it could have been a passing remark like "Oh, that fag's probably writing poetry or something." or "Oh that homo? He's odd but a nice guy.". Not defending Jerry Sloan, for all I know he could be a bigot, but I'm saying it's unfair to judge considering you don't really know for sure what he said, especially since it wasn't quoted and especially because it was hearsay.
