ALBANY, Ore. - An Albany father used a 100,000-volt stun gun on his 18-month-old son, police said Monday. Rian Whittman, 23, has been accused of assault and criminal mistreatment. Police said he used it "multiple times" over three weeks. A police spokesman said there were up to 10 instances.
Police said Whittman's wife, 21, who was not named, reported the abuse on Saturday.
The child was treated at a hospital, police said, and then taken into protective custody by the state Department of Human Services.
Capt. Eric Carter said the police haven't established a motive for the abuse, nor why it began about three weeks ago.
He said the device was not a Taser weapon, named for the manufacturer, but an older model that's applied directly to someone's skin.
You gotta wonder if the wife wasn't home the first 9 times or she just turned a blind eye until she finally had enough and reported his ass.

I have the suspicion that she wasn't home the first several times, Mart. I'm betting she saw him do it once, freaked, reported it, and when the cops took the baby in to he hospital, they found old marks. Could be wrong, of course, though. Maybe I just don't want to believe that there'd be 2 people that fucked up in the same relationship, cause she'd have to be pretty fucked in the head if she didn't report it the first 9 times, almost as fucked as he is for DOING it.

Yeah, I would hope she noticed the marks but didn't know what they were from then freaked when she found out.

No, but I will admit that I have gotten so upset with my boys before that I had to walk away and stay away for a while.
