I killed my fucking phone

Postby Tossica » Wed Feb 07, 2007 9:07 pm

So, I was updating the firmware on my phone because Verizon was making some change that would make it so it could not connect to EVDO service anymore. About 2 minutes in to the update process, the phone goes black... I thought it was just part of the update process but after about 20 minutes I got worried and sure enough, the fucking thing is fried. The screen comes on with no backlight and just says USB v1.02 on it. Fuck! Good thing I synced it just before I did the software update.

Grrrr.... Now I get to shell out $$$ for a new PDA.

No, no warranty. The phone is about 3 years old now.

haha

I called Verizon and told them what happened. They said well, all we can do is replace your device with a new one. We are sorry for the inconvenience. I was like "ok".

Yay!

Anyone want to buy a PDA? I ordered a new one last night when mine died so I will now have an extra brand new Audiovox XV6600 up for grabs. Let me know if you are interested and we can work out a deal.

Warranty's only last a year so most likely not.

Insurance is a possibility and if you pay per month for it it'll be the first thing they see.

I think they are replacing it because they killed it with their firmware update.

Seriously folks, I'll trade this kick ass PDA with a 2GB SD card, car charger, cradle and USB cable and carrying case for a Sony PSP or sell it for $125 shipped. What a steal!

You need it.

Phone, portable pr0n machine, web surfing, games, etc. I can fit like 6 full length movies on that SD card.

I have 2 Gig SD card in my phone. It plays music. Web browses. takes pictures.

It was free from Verizon.

Not to cockblock Toss but I'm pretty sure it's Verizon branded so you'd have to get the software flashed to be able to work with your carrier Tikk.

Bell Mobility, Rogers or Telus?
