Exactly.

I agree to an extent - there was definitely more than enough for everyone involved, but I might take issue with someone coming into my parents lives for a year and contesting the will even though they clearly werent in it - whether there's enough money for everyone or not, I'd probably have a hard time signing over that much of my parents money to someone who was obviously only involved with them for the money.

Well she didn't come into their lives. She came into his life. There's actual footage of the old guy telling her she can have his money.

By coming into his life she has a huge impact on theirs, though. I don't doubt there was a verbal discussion about it - it's amazing what you can get people to say with that type of leverage. There's a reason she wasn't written into his will, though - whether it was rewritten or not I don't know, but there's no denying that was the sole reason of her being with him, and I'd have a huge issue with some slut coming into my fathers life just to mooch off his money, too. Last I checked, prostitution is illegal in the states, and sure she wasn't walking on a street corner in this scenario, but what she did was just a longer drawn out elaborate form of prostitution.

and let me just clarify that isnt the only reason I have no respect for her - the drunk driving, the drug use, the professions she's chosen, the way she raised her son, her complete disregard for education (I do believe she dropped out of school in 8th grade, couldve been 9th, to work at a fast food place ffs) - it just makes me sad for people, especially kids, who look up to celebrities and have that type of image in their heads.

They were just snooty bastards that didn't want 'that tramp' getting one cent of daddie's money.

If their noses weren't so far up their asses the whole thing would have been over long long ago.

Marriage is legal between two consenting adults of the opposite sex last I checked.

Sorry to break it to you Gyps but I'd wager that a large percentage of marriages are based on money, security, etc. Her case was extreme and obvious but honestly, look around you. Ugly, rich, old guys marry young, "sexy" women all the time. Many, many, many women seek out successful men to marry or won't even consider dating someone that isn't going to be able to give them what they want financially. Are they all whores? To an extent I guess but like I said, it's pretty much instinctual, it's been going on for so long.

Sex is legal between two consenting adults as well, you throw money into it and it's prostitution.

Whether the kids were snooty is neither here nor there - I'd damn well be snooty toward someone like that in the same situation. She was a tramp, period - Im surprised anyone who knows anything about her debates that.

I know it has Toss, it doesn't make it any less pathetic, and you'll never see me mourning that type of person or having any inkling of respect for them. That's all I'm saying.

I'd be careful... you are probably talking about a lot of peoples mothers here... maybe even your own or someone close to you. Look around you and then call all of the women whores that are in marriages they might not be in if the men were not able to offer them and their children financial security.

That's a completely different situation - that's marrying out of love and providing for the family in other ways.

ANS situation is completely different and not even comparable.

/shrug, I see where Gyps is going with this. She is still a money grubbing whore, even if it was a consensual marriage. Still I say that's not much different from what a lot of women do.

I dont really beleive anything about peoples relationships if i wasnt there to see what happened myself. I dont think annas clean i think everyone involved is dirty. For people to come out and bash her like shes the bad guy is disgusting to me.

It's not completely different, it's just an extreme, cartoonish version of the same situation. It doesn't matter if it's a billionaire and a playboy bunny or an ugly, asshole attorney that pulls in $200K a year and a soccer mom that doesn't mind putting out once a week so that her and her kids will have a decent life. It's the same basic concept. Now insert just about any financially successful man in place of the attorney. Did she grow to love the ugly, asshole attorney? Who knows? The point is, if she was independently wealthy, the chances of their marriage lasting or even starting would be slim to none. She would be with the person that knocked her socks off. I bet the whole "I'm not in the mood" would happen far less frequently if women were marrying the guys that turned their crank and not the ones that they thought would be able to take care of them. The harsh reality is that 10% of the male population would be getting all the pussy while the other 90% of the guys were standing around holding their dicks, wondering how they were going to spend all their money.

Why do you resort to name calling Spazz? Any time you have nothing valuble to contribute to a thread (read: always) you throw a bunch of f bombs in hopes it'll make your non-point look stronger. Grow up - I said nothing about any member of this board. Stick to the topic, burnout.

I base my opinion on facts - whether I was there or not, she was not in the will. Period. She contested it after being married a year. It isn't like this was some long standing marriage, she married him with one foot in the grave, expecting to collect a multimillion dollar paycheck as soon as he fell all the way in. She dropped out of school in 8th grade. She contributed to the drug use of her underage son. She's been charged for drunk driving. She has never held a job that required any ounce of intelligence. She was a drug addict. She could not construct complete sentences that made any sense a good majority of the time, and if she did, she was hard to understand through slurred speech.

These are facts. Try to keep up.

In that situation, I feel exactly the same way I do about ANS, as the situation you provided in that example is marrying for the sole purpose of money and not love. In a situaion where 2 people get married out of love and the husband is the sole source of income with a stay at home mom or what have you, THAT is what is a different situation.

Anyone who gets married for money only does not have my respect. I don't care if I'm talking about any member of this board - I think people who do that are vile. Marrying for love and having the perk of being comfortable financially while in love so that you can take care of your children is one thing - marrying some shmuck you could give a shit less about just so you can work your way into his will is completely different.

I'm just saying....Marshall's kids created ANS. She was just a stripper who married a rich old fart and she would have faded into obscurity again if they had just paid her off and gone on their merry way. They chose to escalate it....she chose to capitalize on it.

Be as naive as you like about this....most women would have done the same. A single mother working strip clubs?? I'm surprised she ever said no.

Having said that...she was a no-class strumpet with a huge desire to be the center of attention and I bet she'd be THRILLED to know what a furor her death has caused.

It isn't a matter of being naive - it's a matter on basing it on my own personal beliefs and making a sound attempt to not be cynical and have some faith in people as a whole.
