1. Drink a pint of whole milk

2. Drink a bottle of real lemonade/lemon juice

3. 10 minutes later, proceed to violently puke guts out into trashcan.

4. Go home early.

Not exactly crazy, and I only did it once (I hate puking), but it works.

If I ever needed to get out of work early I just asked. Your work ethic and performance set your level of credibility so when you say "hey I need to leave early today" and you aren't a lazy piece of shit they'll just say "Why?" then "Ok." more often than not. If you feel like you have to fake sick to go home early than most likely your credibility isn't all that good.

uhm, yeah.

It has always been a matter of me simply telling someone that I am going. No real questions about it because my superiors are usually owing me for work related favors anyways... like the time I was sent on vacation and they sent me a laptop shortly as a consultant.thereafter because they needed my help with a project.

Now I am moving back to Ohio and they are trying to get me to telecommute rather than leave the company.

Once I asked my boss to let me have the day off so I could wait in a 10 hour line for a ps2. No BS though I told him where I was going.

Yeah, a long time ago, I told my boss I was going on a bender for a week in New Orleans and he said go, have fun, I'll see you when you get back.

I kind of agree with Jay on this one

If you feel like you need to make up a crazy excuse you either don't deserve the time off, or you're working for a shitty company

Yep, that's always worked for me.

I've had jobs that you need to be peppy for where I've flat out said I'm in a bad mood, I'm not sick, I feel fine, I'm just pissed off and I'd rather go home early where it's not been a problem and have once even been thanked for being honest and not hanging around in a bad mood and performing badly because of it.

I've been lucky to have mostly good bosses in my lifetime who were treat me as you'd want to be treated types of people where it's worked out fine

Anyone else find this post funny? Not what Scat said, and not what Jay said...but 1 and 1 together = a tad of humor.
