I think this is a BIG mistake.

Legislation to force this vaccine.

I'm trying to find more info about how long this iteration of the drug has been available and how long the tests have gone on for.

I think for some drugs and tests it should be done over 10-20 years. I don't think a 2 year test with 250K women is enough.

I think this because when I was a kid (3-4) I had bad ear aches. I was given a "harmless" drug to help me through, now that drug (I'm 38) as been found to have side effects on enamil (yeah my teeth). If I bite into a hard piece of candy, it ain't the candy that breaks, hell I have a hard time chewing down on ice and that sucks my friends.

What do the women here think about this?

What if they find out that during uteran development or some shit it causes some crazy birth defect, who would pay for that fuck up? If I understand it the target audience is women around the 9-13 year old age.

How the hell do they know it doesn't have a long term side affect? Could you imagine if one of the effects is a birth defect, it would essintially wipe out an entire generation of women's ability to have normal kids.

I'm not sure what to think of this, yet...right now it seems it's another thing folks have decided to get on the bandwagon about being scared of.

Eggs, anyone? Oh wait they're bad for you! No, they're good for you! /shrug.

Yeah but 1 state is making it LAW, that is a pretty big deal in my eyes. This one is different that others we take in the sense that ALL kids have to get "shots" to go to school. This one is very paticular in what it is for and knowing that the method of transmission of HPV is sex. I see some bible belters have some BIG issues with this.

There is also a form you can fillout if you dont want to have the shot given to your daughter. So while its law, i dont see this being that big of a deal.

Very interesting subject though, i would also like to know how long they tested this shot, before making this decision.

Being as you can opt out of it as a parent I don't see it being that big of a deal either - at that age my mother would've definitely had me opt out of it, the fact that they start the vaccine at 6th grade which is all 11 year olds makes me pretty sad.

HPV is a very common STD, and rarely results in cervical cancer so honestly I don't know why they stop with HPV and aren't enforcing or putting more work into other vaccinations for STD's. I don't personally see a problem with implementing it so long as they keep the opt out in place.

Just another step toward the inevitable collar we will one day willingly accept to wear for the betterment of our society.
