It's really going to suck when the ban drinking and driving.

ROFL ok that came out wrong.

Currently 1 beer in the state of MI is too much to drink if you drink it in less than 1 hour .01 (or is it .02), so if you drink 2 beers at dinner out, or two glasses of wine and drive in under 90mins, you are DUI (or is it DWI). They should ban booze at all establishments and you can only drink at home. Does this make my point more clear?

If it is determined that drinking causes overall harm to society, and this wouldn't be that hard to do IMHO, is everyone ok with proibition(sp)?

Again, i know this is a stretch, so keep in mind my sarcasm but still, this could be the begining of something far more sinister moohahahahaha.

Ive been saying the legal Limit is rediculously low for a while but everyone thinks im crazy. I also think it should be a no harm no foul rule when drinking and driving but on the flip side horrible punishments if you do fuck up.

Let people drive drunk and when they kill someone bam we got em!

That's retarded, as Finny put it, you're basically putting EVERYONE at risk in the effort to catch a few bad dudes.

I say the complete opposite. You get caught over the limit, possibly well over the limit, you should be prosecuted the same as if you killed someone. Prosecute them on intent, and they intended to harm someone.

But they did commit a crime, they were drunk driving. What I'm proposing is making the penalty the same if they kill someone or not, and possibly taking someones license away for years on even the very first DUI charge.

Thats why are legal system is in the shitter. Our courtrooms are full of bullshit case after bullshit case. If you dont like my first idea how bout making the legal limit slightly less retarded. Im sure most can get home after a beer or 2 after work and should not have to risk being completly fucked over 2 beers. Freedom means free to make good or bad decisions. Responsibility means being held accountable when one of your ideas goes terribly wrong. As a commie im sure you have no idea what im talking about.

lol Shut the fuck up Harrison. You must be a walking curse or something. Ya know 50 people who have died from Heroin, 50 people whose lives have been ruined by weed, apparently a fuckton of people who have died or been killed in drunk driving accidents. Do the world a favor and eat a bullet before every single person you know ends up in the ground.

Your whole "argument" is fucking ridiculous.

"bullshit case"?! Driving while impaired is bullshit? Driving a few thousand pounds of death and destruction while not fully aware upstairs is bullshit? (something you never achieve on a normal basis anyhow)

You're fucking stupid.

Fine raise the legal limit and strengthen the penalty.

We both win.

I'm very anti drunk driving, but I agree that .08 is very low - it doesn't take anything to get to .08, and that level doesn't even remotely impair you, imo. People can be 3x over the legal limit and barely be buzzed, so yes it sucks for someone who can really easily drive no different than normal after 3 beers to be charged with a DUI. Legal limit should be raised, but I definitely disagree with the no harm no foul thing - the potential is there, and they should be punished for that.. because once the fuckup is there, it's too late to go back. The law to punish the potential of harm is there to discourage people from doing it at all, and I think it should be that way. If someone aims and shoots a gun at someone and misses, that doesn't mean since no one was hurt everything is ok~

Thats still attempted murder. Thats apples and oranges. Sighting someone in for a kill and sucking with a firearm is a lot diffrent than drunk driving. See one has intent.

Yea to get home. When you point a gun and shoot it at someone what is your intent ? Not the same at all but nice try.

There's definitely intent with drunk driving - it's known that drunk driving has killed/maimed heaps of people - a vehicle is just as dangerous as a gun if misused, barely holding your eyes open and being unable to walk straight and then trying to operate a piece of machinery that's caused countless deaths is certainly intent, even if you're too impaired to think of the fact that it will can hurt someone at the time
