The Mexicans are getting pwned near me

Postby Jay » Tue Mar 20, 2007 10:08 pm

In San Rafael, CA.

Basically there's an area in San Rafael called "The Canal" or "Canal St." that is inhabited by mainly hispanics. The police issued notices saying that they were going to come and pick them up and deport them. You know the stereotype about how Mexicans wait on the street corner and wait for other Mexicans to drive up and offer them jobs for the day? That's true here. Cept, a couple of days ago, the cops came, nabbed a ton of people and if those people can't produce citizenship papers, they're out.

I went to go get my car washed that morning, car wash closed. Couldn't go buy a decent burrito either. I know that sounds so stereotypical, but that really was my day. I thought it kinda sucked not having hispanics around.

Anyways, what's your guys' opinion on this? Personally, I think hispanics are hard working people and they take the menial labor jobs out of our hands and bust their ass at it thus making my life more comfortable and I'd like them to stay.

I think it fucks up the economy. Paying people dirt under the table might make you feel comfy jay but as a whole it damages our economy. America is going to be fucked if we cant figure something out with some jobs. A janitor is bullshit work but it used to pay enough to live on. Why shouldnt some uneducated loser from america get that job for a real wage as opposed to a mexican for a 3rd world wage ? I dont buy the they area hardworking people just looking for a better life bullshit. This is the modern age we have enough HAVE NOTS in the country struggleing to make it so i dont think we can afford to import all of mexicos have nots too.

Gah! The angel on my left shoulder says "Spazz is right, immigrants are bad for us" and the devil on the right says "But nobody can make a burrito like Roberto"

I wish a lot of Americans would have just HALF the work ethic those Mexicans have. Also wish that the Americans that have never had to get their hands dirty and sit in big plush offices all day would have to go out and do some of the work those guys do someday.

Yes, but for the last 30 years, all our technology research was pointed towards improving porn, video games, breast implants and pines pump.

So far best we accomplished is 4 self checkout lines in grocery store, and i still need to deal with LaQuiffa at the end of that line, who got intelligence and personality of amoeba.

I applaud your honesty about that, and you hit the nail on the essence of the problem imho. The problems we are seeing concerning illegal immigration are of our own making. Our country in general be it politicians, government organizations or the average person on the street have for a very long time quietly ignored and turned a blind eye to the problem because of the benefits we reap. I view it in no small way as an exploitation of a third world country. We have essentially set up a non formal cast system that is not that far removed from slavery.

While I don't like the idea of an amnesty program, I also realize it is unrealistic to have mass deportations and any deportations are a joke until we have secured our borders. I don't have what I consider to be an entire solution, but there are two things that I feel must happen with absolute certainty.

First we must have better control over the flow on our border. Walls and patrols will help but in the end unless we remove the attraction success in this area will be of limited returns. Most solutions to removing the attraction I've heard revolve around enforcing labor laws and getting tough on employers who hire illegals. This in and of it's self again is not a complete viable solution, and even pursuing it with overwhelming zeal will not solve the issue. I think the solution relies heavily in helping Mexico develop it's economic sector and standard of living.

In short the answer in my mind is to stop exploiting Mexico's labor pool for our own benefit, and facilitate giving Mexican workers a reason and opportunity to live and work their native land.

/tin foil hat joke not to be taken seriously

Essentially we have a massive amount of people illegally crossing our border. It is nothing short of an informal undeclared invasion force. These people often times don't want to be US citizens, they are proud of their country and it's heritage, they just want the Amercian dream.

The answer is we give it to them: Consider the informal invasion force as a threat to our nation and it's security and invade Mexico. Thats right, take it over. Now they are all Americans!!! No more illegal problem AND we have a much smaller area to worry about on our southern border. The Mexican people get a voice in government and much of the corruption and cartel influence is purged from the country. The people can have both the ability to maintain their home and culture while still being able to improve their standard of living and economic growth.

/tin foil hat joke off

side note: just like any other group of people you have hard workers and worthless workers. Making broad generalizations about work performance and ethic isn't very far removed from stereotyping even if it's positive.

I've seen both hardworking Hispanics with strong work ethics, and those that put a lot of effort into making sure they have to do as little as possible.

I say we just kill any and all that we do catch that are illegal immigrants. That would probably make them think a little harder about their decision to enter the states illegally.

Yes, I am quite serious.

I think we should open the door and let anyone and everyone right in. Give them a SS# and put them into the tax roles. Why creat an artificial demand problem when the supply is so readily available? Let them pick fruit, wash dishes, whore themselves out, etc. Lower cost of labor until they don't have incentive to come over. If you get to the point that more than 50% of Mexico is in the US then you can annex the country.

The issue re: illiegal aliens IMHO is what the fall out is. They enter illegally, have kids, whom are US citizens, whom we are force to care for be it medical or otherwise. The parent while contribution to specific infrastructures (lawn service, construction, OEMs, etc), they typically are not taxed and contribute nothing to the government directly, like you and I are forced to do.

That is my only beef with these folks. I don't care how hard they work, how cheap they are paid, etc. I care that we pay for their fuck ups (got sick, broke a leg, car crash, etc). They are not on the matrix like all the rest of us yet we pay directly for the impact they create.

I don't blame the "person" I fully blame the company. I don't even fault the government. IMHO any company location in any state once found to employee illiegals should pave the way for a state wide class action lawsuit. Ignorance of the law, companies not being cetain their employee's are legal, etc. is not a valid excuse. You want to have a business? You need to bet your business you're doing it right, within the bounds of the law.

Why not go back to the beliefs espoused on the Statue of Liberty, ie, "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses", at least applied to Mexico, and let in whoever wants to come? Give 'em a green card, a social security card, put them on the grid, and let them do the same jobs they're already doing.

To be sure our immigration system needs some major overhauls. We should check people out for security purposes, and it is prudent to have some numbers caps, but some of our immigration red tape is completely stupid.
