Nah, COH is pretty good on the casual player. SWG is very very casual friendly.

Front Mission 4 is out, and it's goood.

My only gripe is that you don't get to salvage parts from the wanzers (mechs) you defeat like in FM3. Man, I would re-do fights over and over again just to get certain pieces of rare enemy mechs (kind of like trying to steal the full set of Genji armor in FF:T). The rest of the new features are gravy though.

I should go re-buy FM3...never should have sold that back, and I ought to re-buy Vagrant Story too...wish they'd make a sequel for that.
Can probably get them used for cheap.

Pick up Neverwinter Nights and the 2 expansions.

Great fun, and a lot of gameplay.

I don't know of any casual rpgs. But if you're looking for an FPS I highly recommend FarCry. Picked it up on Lyions recommendation and I can't go more than a day without playing a game of Assault.

GBA & some of the RPGs that come with it.

Preferably running a rom simply because you can freeze state at whim and instantly put the game down.

i'm turning into such a flaming swg fanboi, but to be honest it is VERY casual friendly like Naginataka said.

i've been playing just over a week and already mastered 2 professions and am halfway towards a third. the people in that game that havn't played EQ just don't know what grinding is.

there are plenty

Post by Malluas »

if you can find the original Baldur's Gate and BG 2 those are good.

NWN isn't great, but its good enough for something casual.

Dungeon Siege is good also. Granted i am sick of it right now, but i am sick of all my games at the moment.

I would say BG and BG 2 and their respective expansions if you can find copies of them. Great games

We should definitely plan a time to play. I love that game. Summers are really f'ing busy for me so unfortunately I have to schedule time to play games.

I played Dungeon Siege until my file was deleted. Then I moved back to EQ where I belong.

My friend plays Neverwinter Nights and while he loves the game, he is discouraged because the servers are always down and that is gay.

I suggest you read a book.

I have DS and the expansion. Let me know if you want a third.

I totally dig the game, and still have great screenshots of friends and I on the chicken level!

DS would be pretty damn close to perfect if you could play in first person mode AND crank the difficulty up even more so it's not such a hack fest

dungeon siege is a role playing game? did someone change the definition of rpg on me again?
i thought it was a graphically better ripoff of diablo with more mindless hacking.

It definitely has roots in Diablo, but there is a story and its great, light fun.

There is an RPG background, but its built around quick and easy playing which is nice. I really like it, and I'm looking forward to DS 2.

Any game that has this is definitely an RPG:
