Moderators: Mop, Dictators in Training

Dan Patrick talked with Warriors coach Don Nelson about Game 2. Nellie had some fun with his team's underdog status. To wit:

How will the Mavs change their approach?

"We were just lucky that first game. They didn't shoot very well, and we didn't either actually. But for whatever reason, we played a little bit better than they did," he said. "I think they'll do just fine the second game. They'll be dominant as they should be and they'll mop us up.

"We have a better chance to get hit by lightning than to win tomorrow night."

But the Warriors have beaten the Mavs six straight.

"I'm just the luckiest guy in the world."
What saves a man is to take a step. Then another step.

That's Nellie...

He's ALWAYS been like that. I think he and Stan Van Gundy are the most 'downplay' coaches in the league, with Mike Dan Toni at the other end of the spectrum.

Well, it certainly does make it hard to get bulletin board material from him at least.

Nellie is hilarious. Sorry Vonk, but you can't help but cheer for the Warriors. I got your back in the second round though.

Seriously, Warrior fans would have been thrilled to make it in and still get swept. Wins are pure gravy. Friend of mine that's a big warrior fan couldn't shut up about that game 1 win, he was so stoked.

I'm sure Dallas will pull the series out handily, ultimately. As I said earlier though, if the warriors pull off the miracle and win the series? You'll be able to hear the sound of partying in Oakland all the way to Hawaii. One can only imagine Cuban's commentary if that were to happen...

We're 5th seed. I tell you what. I'll take that bet if I get 2 to 1 odds. So your 30k to my 15.

Bet em against Miami.

If Miami makes the finals Taxx gets 30,000k

If Chicago makes it to the finals Jay gets 30,000k

If neither makes it, no one gets the goats.

Just trying to limit my goat point exposure through use of the actual numbers. Bulls all the way but why should I have to make an even bet since my chances are technically so slim.

The difference is that I don't think Miami will get past the first round let alone the finals.

I'll give you 3:1 Jay.

2 to 1 it is since you don't have the goats to support 3 to 1. So I give you 15k if I lose, I get 30k if you win. Deal?
