Sharks over Wings in 6.

Ducks over Canucks in 6.

Sabres over Rangers in 6.

Sens over Devils in 7.

I got 6/8 right in round 1, not too bad. Games were a bit off, but I got some right. :) Just missed on Pens & Wild as far as series victors goes. Lets see how I do this round. Well, I could go 1/4 for all I care, as long as I'm right about Sharks over Wings. :hiphop:

Hey, at least it wasn't Marty's fault... his team totally let him down this time around. I really feel for the guy.

Yah, Vonk, this time it wasn't Turco's fault. Of course, given his past failrues, how much less effective was the team in front of him cause they constantly had worry in the back of their mind of whether or not they could trust him to bail them out. But it's true, he finally played well in the playoffs.

I'd argue that they would try harder if they thought their goalie couldn't make the stops for them...

A team is less willing to go on the offensive if they're afraid their goalie wont be able to cover any mistakes the team might make while trying to apply pressure. I would say it was that way for both Vancouver and Dallas, which is why the shot totals were so low. Neither team is all that great defensively.

Unless Luongo plays out of his mind, Canucks are going to be lucky to go 5. Well, maybe they'll wake up and start actually playing decently again, like they did the first couple games of the Dallas series.

Only a couple more hours til Detroit-Sharks starts....

GO SHARKIES

Gotta wonder about a team that names itself after, uh, lets be polite here, "Sex acts performed with a menstruating woman"....

From http://www.detroitredwings.com/history/1930s.jsp

In 1932 the financial problems ended when grain millionaire and shipping magnate James Norris Sr. purchased the team. Norris, like Adams, was a Canadian turned American. He had once played hockey for the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association's Winged Wheelers.

When the two men met, Norris and Adams agreed that the team's new logo would be a winged wheel and the club's nickname changed to the Red Wings.

However, I would like to mention that their motto for this year's playoff run is "join the red wave" so you may have something there Arlos.

That being said, Wings in 6 over the Sharks. Will be a good series.

Sharks win 2-0, take a 1-0 lead in the series. Our offense needs work, our defense is playing AWESOME. So is Nabokov.

Sens almost let their game slip away, but pull it out and win 5-4. Didn't see it, so can't comment on how things went.

Game 2 in the Sharks/Wings series is going to be brutal, I am sure. Hopefully we'll get some more of our offensive touch back first...

Great defensive game by the Sharks. They should be more aggressive on offense instead of shutting it down after taking the lead.

Their scared, that's all they had once Detroit found their game halfway through the first.

Which is upsetting if that's how this series is going to be played. First goal then trap the neutral zone and block shots... blech. I was hoping this would be a really fast paced, hard hitting, high scoring, skilled match up.

I think future games will be more like that. Detroit was tired for this one, and sharks were dealing with jet lag and layoff rust.

Next game is gonna be vicious.

I hate the red wings franchise, always have. Hockey town? You might want to head up north, gentleman.

I hate the whole "Hockey Town" shit too. Especially when we can't even fill the arena in the playoffs anymore.

Hockey was more popular in Detroit when we were the Dead Wings.

Vancouver just beat the Ducks in double OT. Really really nice goal, somehow squeezed it into a tiny opening. Series tied 1-1 now. I really hope this one goes 7 games, so that the Sharks have an easier time when they hit the next round.

Hey, any of you Detroit fans who're convinced they're going to win: You willing to put some goats where your mouth is?
