Your mom goes to college

And so do I.

But seriously, I've been going since fall and I have like 45 credits towards pretty much nothing. And I'd like to know what degrees you guys think are worthwhile. I was thinking maybe something in business... because what doesn't a business degree cover?

After going back and forth between tons of different majors, I decided to major in Philosophy and Math, because I figure from there I could go to graduate school for anything from law to physics to business, if I so choose. I wanted something that didn't feel like it was limiting my options, but rather expanding them, and at the same time, interesting.

What do you want out of your education? What's important to you? What type of work do you want to do? What kind of income? Would you sacrifice a generally fun job for a stressful one that pays more?

The thing about business degrees is that they are everywhere. Tons of people have MBA's, and that means a lot of jobs for them will be competitive. It provides you with a good education, but it doesn't mean you're going to be at the top of some company when you graduate. I wonder what the average income is for people with MBA's? I bet it's relatively low compared to other Master degrees. I'm not saying they're bad, but you should do your best to know what you're getting into before you come to any decisions.

What do you want to do? If you don't know what you want to do, then pick a career path that sounds interesting and achieve a degree in the goal of that path. You can always change careers down the road.

english degree with a studio art minor ftw haha

just kidding. i don't know what to tell you :( i was pretty single-minded from the get-go--pretty much knew where i was headed and what i wanted to do.

take some time over the summer to do some soul-searching and find out what really interests you as a career. i'm sure you can find something you're interested in.

if not, you can always move here and be my servant. *rowr* :P

Servant sounds good, but I bet the pay stinks.

I've never been that ambious but lately I've decided that I probably will never settle for a job that has low pay. Even though I enjoy what I'm doing right now I don't think the pay is worth my time. So I'm definately pay oriented.

I've mostly been inspired by some of the higher-ups of my company that all they have is MBAs and they basically just try to increase sales for their districts. I guess alot of soul searching is in order :/
