Going To Mexico

Yeah so i'm going to Cayman Islands and Colica (i spelled it wrong) anyways, Just saying BonVoyage to all the NT assholes jk...Not leaving till the 12th...not that anyone cares.

Anybody ever go to mexico??? Tell me how you liked it and possible things i should try to do while up there...

Make sure to drink the water, ALOT of it in fact. You know, so you dont get dehydrated and stuff.

yeah & drinking soda / juice really isn't safe down there because they use so many preservatives.

I went to the Cayman's...very neat place-be sure to go to all of the shops and when you go into the Hard Rock Cafe go to the wall with Jimmy Hendrix's guitar and think to yourself "Araby was here" and that should complete your visit.

I have never been to the other place you mentioned.

you really have to think about the water though, theres some stuff you wouldn't really think of. Produce for example, never order a salad there, because the lettuce is washed using local water. My suggestion is watch what you eat, go with everything pre packaged or cooked. My grandmother got hepatitis from eating a salad in mexico

that makes sense, the steins or glasses will have been rinsed with tainted water. You don't want to go totally crazy though, even if you drink water in the worst place in mexico, you won't necessarily get hep, and if you go to the more touristy places your odds of being ok are a lot better of being safe. It just something to keep in mind when you're over there. Enjoy yourself, but remember to be careful

I got a free ticket to take a cruise-my 26th birthday...met the DJ on board the ship, got freaky in the elevator and on the running track on deck and then he lost his job because of it.

He is Canadian...we're still friends!

Dont eat any seafood or produce. As 10 said (i think it was him) you can probably get away with eating fish or something in the touristy places.
If you do get longnecks, wipe the top before you drink.

Oh, lol, if you go to podunky places, bring quarters as it costs a quarter to use thier lovely outdoor facilities.

Put on your stern face and remember to just say no. I used to go to a shitty part of Mexico yearly and there would be 12 year old looking girls with little babies asking for money, or little 7 year old boys playing accordian and singing on the sidewalks.
Just say no because if you give change to one, every little boy down the sidewalk will see you and expect money from you too.

I went to Grand Cayman, Cozymel and....I forget where the other place was. I forget where they were, but see the Aztec ruins if thats where you are going. That was nice.

On a serious note. As you know always order bottled water. But when you do, check to see if its still sealed. There are quite afew places, that will reuse bottles and fill them with tap water. Then sell them as bottled water.

Keep your important legal documents locked up in the hotel safe. Passports etc.

Only travel with minimal cash on any given day.

You can haggle in a lot of places.

Beware the margarita (it uses ice which comes from local water supplies fun!).

Lots of other things to keep in mind. Don't forget the sunscreen.

i have never heard of any place in mexico that sounds anything like colica and the cayman islands arent part of it either. you sure you're even going to mexico? :dunno:

Cayman islands are near the gulf, in the Caribean. Far east of the mexican border. Calico is part of the Grand Caymans. You are going to the caribean dude, not mexico. Unless you are leaving from a city in Mexico.

Is it a cruise you are going on?
