phpBB or other message boards question

The WoW guild I'm in is looking for a place to set up forums. I suggested Ezboards but remember some of the issues we had when NT was set up there. Whoever runs our boards, can you pls let me know a little about our boards? How much does it cost to sign up, create one, maintain it, etc? Or do you know of any decent message board communities that'd work well and are not too costly? Thanks

NT runs on phpbb, in general its a fairly simple and customizable board. If yall are only looking for a message board you might want to look at http://www.freeforums.org/

Hosting through them limits how much you can customize the board but it’s free and stable.

NT on the other hard is hosted with a web hosting provider; this allows for much more power over what’s going on with the board. You need to be a bit more knowledgeable about what your doing though to make it run correctly.
