One of the highest paid coaches in the NBA now. Didnt the NBA learn from Patino?

Pitino, Montgomery, Calipari, and many other college coaches failed at the NBA levels. The only one I can think off hand that was succesful is Larry Brown.

Thing with Larry Brown, is he was given the talent to work with. I don't believe he actually spearheaded a rebuilding or young team. i could be wrong though.

When he actually was forced to coach a team, look what he did with the Knicks.

In 23 seasons, Larry Brown has 4 years with losing record so I think the Knicks year was an anomaly.

the magic still have no point guard, and darko is a scrub. The magic can throw all they want at the coach but it doesn't change those two facts

It's a good move for him. As a gator fan it's a little bit upsetting, but he is making the right move.

Seems the threads get a lot of traffic. People seem to like talking hoops. Does the board not meet your quota of motorcycle racing threads?

They have Howard. With Darko and Grant Hill becoming free agents, they will have cap room to add the necessary players.

I know Snero doesn't care much for him, but I think they should make a move for Lewis. They'll play off each other really well.

He might be too pricey though.

I just saw on SportsCenter this dude wants out of his contract allready. Like after two days. Not really a basketball fan but I though it was interesting.

He must have watched too much SportsCenter talking about how he wouldn't have any control or be able to mold the players and his nuts shriveled up.

Orlando should make him pay to get out of the contract.

lewis would be a good fit, but they still have turkoglu who is a decent spot up shooter although very streaky. It would be a nice upgrade getting lewis but doesn't really fix their biggest hole. A good coach on the other hand, might be able to minimize the damage jameer does to the flow of the offense and actually start to develop dwight's post game. Billups might be the obvious choice but a guy like blake wouldn't be a bad choice if they could get him on the cheap (I think i read he wanted to stay in denver though)

Darko is what he is, and probably always will be, untapped potential.

Looks like Donovan will be returning to the Florida Gators. Reports are that the Magic will allow him out of the contract, with no penalty.

Van Gundy is a top candidate to be the Magic's new coach.
