*shrug* Maybe I will, maybe I won't. I never particularly cared about having kids, and don't even like most infants and toddlers; they are entirely too annoying, and "cuteness" is not one of my big motivators.

If you want a serious answer, then I'd say it's time to sit him down and have That Talk with him. Needing to have that conversation is a universal condition among people in our society, I think, it just varies a bit by age when it's needed. If you raised him right, he should be willing to listen to you and not be stupid about things. Just don't go into the conversation expecting him to know zip and be condescending, as I guarantee he knows more than you think he does. Hell, I bet most all of us knew more at 11 about sex than our parents thought we did, and TV & Movies are way the hell more blatant and permissive of showing all kinds of behavior now than they were in 1981, I guarantee you.

In any case, this kind of development was inevitable. Trying to cut him off at the knees, so to speak, will only make him hide it from you, not stop. Gotta give him some room for growth, without making things wide open. Difficult balancing act to be sure, but one you have in common with pretty much every mother that ever lived.

I am 22 and not having a kid. I can't even use all of my digits to count my friends that ARE having a kid or have had one or more already by this age.

First off, quit telling her 'he's only 11'. Do you know how many middle schools have daycares for the babies of their students?

Second, sit down with him, Kizzy, and have the talk. I'm sure he's gonna be under a lot of pressure from his friends to do the deed and be a man. Make sure you reinforce to him that it's not sex that'll make him a man.

Doesn't sound like anything to worry about as long as he knows the dangers of the internet. My son has REALLY long hair and has started taking notice of girls more and more. Last year it was a fight to get him in the shower in the morning and now he jumps in there first thing in the AM and comes out all clean and smelling like AXE. I am pretty sure I had "girlfriends" at that age as well and they were pretty innocent.

An 11 year old has no business having a myspace page. Also, having a girlfriend is ok, but again he's 11. He's a very young child.

My question for you Kizz is does his Dad provide the support, discipline, and most importantly the communication needed for a child of this age?
